Would you like to buy Drops Language at a discounted price? Can you save money by buying a Drops subscription using a VPN?

Would you like to learn a new language? Have you tried the DROPS app and really like it? But would you like to upgrade to the Premium version where you can practice all day and have access to all topics, and not be limited to just 5 minutes of learning per day?

If you want to pay annually for DROPS, the price is usually around $65, and the lifetime subscription price is $145. That's a lot of money, and this is a subscription for just one person, and not for the whole family. Duolingo has a single-user subscription option like this, but for a little more, you can buy Duolingo Super which makes the subscription available for six people in total, making it much cheaper if the whole family wants to learn a new language together.

Maybe you want to buy a DROPS Premium subscription, but don't want to pay full price. Is it possible to buy a discounted subscription if you use a VPN and connect to a server in a "poorer" country? Would you save money if you buy your Drops subscription in India, Brazil, Turkey, or some other country?

Is DROPS Language cheaper in other countries? Can I access those countries with a VPN?

I've done some quick research just now and used a VPN to connect to servers in countries like Turkey, Brazil, India, but I've also checked prices in the United States, Hungary, Netherlands, and a few other countries. What was the conclusion?

Below you can see a couple of screenshots I made of the pricing screen connected to servers in India, Turkey, and the Netherlands. You don't need to do a currency conversion yourself, I'll give you the values below the images.

Is DROPS cheaper with a VPN?

I was really hoping it would be cheaper, but if you do a currency conversion of the above prices, you'll quickly find out that the prices are almost identical. There's no money to save by using a VPN, so in that sense it's quite different from, say, Duolingo Super which you can get a pretty good discount on if you sign up using a VPN.

As you can see, I compare these prices at one point with a 40% discount available, and if you compare the prices, it's somewhere between $85 and $95 for a lifetime access account, no matter where you sign up.

So, unfortunately, I don't have much good news in this article.

Is DROPS worth it?

I really like the app and it's a great way to learn new words in a foreign language. But, considering it's just an app to learn words, it's still pretty expensive. It all depends on who you are and where you are. If you think about the fact that you often pay a language teacher or language school several hundred dollars a month to teach you, it's actually not that expensive if you think about the fact that you have a lifelong helper. In that perspective, it's cheap. But, still, it's pretty overwhelming to have to buy DROPS at full price.

How can I get DROPS cheaper if a VPN can't help me?

Don't be in a hurry! Wait for 40% off deals like the one I just showed you. Do you have even more time? Wait for Black Friday to come around. Then the discounts are even bigger, so if you're ever going to buy a lifetime subscription, Black Friday is probably the best time of the year to do it!
