Long awaited, new Drugwars map implementation is here. We announced it a couple of days ago and showed you what was in the works but now is the time to explain what just happened and how the game completely changed. This game feature was in the works from the very beginning and slowly grew from idea to realization that will not only change the battle system but the production of resources too. Nothing will ever be the same. Are you ready for this new era?
The map system was one of the major implementations that this game is supposed to have. There are still a couple of more huge tricks up our sleeves but we can not tell you everything just yet, that wouldn't be much of a surprise now, would it? With the Drugwars map of the world, you are, in a way, not attacking players anymore, you are attacking bases where players are located and diminishing their progress in those locations. There is so much new stuff that is going on so let us slowly start and bring you up to speed with everything that is going on in this brand new Drugwars world.
Once you click on the Map in the left menu, a rotating Earth image will appear in the main frame. You will notice how it has a lot of small hexagons on it. Each hexagon is one territory and every such territory has 225 possible base locations. You will also notice how those hexagons are in different colors. There is black, green, yellow, orange, red, and blue. Those colors are indicating how dangerous a specific territory is where black is empty, green means that there is an inexistent or low danger, yellow is moderate and orange and red considerable and even high. Only blue locations are different because they are implicating how there will soon be missions on them.
Why the map?
The map has many benefits in comparison with the old system. Players were only producing resources in one location before while they can now accumulate more and in a shorter time by having more than one production of the same thing. Every base can hold her own buildings which means that player can have a couple of the same buildings and produce more resources than before. Players can also recruit and train their units in every base and they can move them from one location to another to strengthen their position if necessary. This opens an entirely new level of strategic gameplay that will enable players to build their drugwars empire not only quicker but smarter too.
Every player has one free base location to choose. That primary base has no required resources or obligations for a player in any way, it is completely free and simple to choose. Every player can set up to 5 bases if he so wishes (they are not mandatory) but those 4 additional ones require some investment in the terms of purchasing a special unit that will establish them.
When you log into Drugwars game, it will tell you how you need to choose a location on the map first. Until you do that, you will not be able to play the game or see the resources that you have. You can either click on the green link under your image that says "SELECT THE LOCATION" or click on the map in the left menu. Both will get you to the same place, they will open the rotating world map with hexagons on it.
Primary is mandatory
To pick your primary base, click on the map in the left menu. When the world map appears in the main frame you can either watch how it spins and look at different territories or you can click and drag your mouse to rotate it manually. When you click on any hexagon territory, a small window will pop-up next to it with the information on how many bases are already in that territory and how many are free. Keep in mind that it is giving you information about bases, not players. If it says there are 4 bases there, it can mean that those 4 bases can be owned by 1,2,3, or 4 different players. When you have chosen your preferred territory, click on the hexagon that represents it.
Once you have clicked on the territory, base locations will open in a grid. Every territory grid has 225 base locations. Those which are in red color have already been claimed by another player and you can find out who by clicking on them. Those which are in black color are free and available for you to choose them as your primary base location.
From those available black base locations, you need to choose one for your primary base. When you click on the one you desire, you will need to confirm it by clicking on the blue button CHOOSE AS PRIMARY BASE. Your base will from then on be colored green in the base grid of that territory and the information about your primary base location will be under your image and in the right corner of the main frame. Those players that will have more than one location will always know which base they are on by reading what it says in that right corner or under their image. The first number is territory while the second one is the base in that territory. In the example below, the primary base is territory 442 and location 1.
Every player can have up to 4 additional bases. The process is very similar to choosing the primary base except it requires a special unit called Occupation Troop. A player must first recruit this unit to be able to get an additional base with it.
Occupational troop has the potential to create a new base. If you use it for that purpose, it will transform itself into the base which means that you will not have that unit anymore. The unit will not return once the base is set because the unit has become the base itself. In addition to occupying territory and creating bases, this unit can also transport resources from one base to another and station units. This is a good thing to do in order to assure enough resources in additional bases to start building upgrades and unit recruitment.

When you choose your base location (in the same way as for the primary one) and click on a base in the desired territory, the blue button will now say CREATE NEW BASE. Once you click on it, it will divert you to choose the unit for that action. You need to select one Occupational troop by entering the number in the blank space and clicking on the image of the unit (just as you would select units for battle). Your coordinates will already be set but you can change them if you wish and you need to enter the name of your new base. When you have your occupational troop selected, coordinates of the base, and the new base name, click on OCCUPY and your base will be created.
As it has been previously said, each base has its own production, buildings, and units. From the Headquarters to Alcohol Silo, players can upgrade their buildings in every base individually. It is like playing five games at once if you have 5 base locations. Those upgrades can be simultaneous so while you are upgrading the Cocina in one base there is no problem in upgrading Black Market in another and the Bar in the next. The same goes for recruiting units.
Do you know where you are?
Be careful what you are building and where. Before starting any upgrade make sure that you are doing it in the base that you want. You can always see which base you are on because it is stated under your image and in the upper right corner of the main frame. To switch between locations, simply click on the small arrow next to the primary base to expand the list of bases and click on the one you want. Once you do that, the chosen base will be the one you are currently in. By producing resources in more than one base and transporting them, you will not only collect them faster and be able to upgrade more buildings but also have bigger drug production and as a result, higher daily rewards. Your information about resource production in the top banner will change according to the base you are currently on but you can see your total production from all bases if you click on overview in the left menu. That total production is what your daily prize is based upon. Your daily prize is for your total drug production from all bases added together.
Trainings are different
Since you can station units from one base in another one, it would be silly that 5 of your hobos were trained to level 6, for example, and another 15 to level 2. All your units are at the same level of any training at all times. This means that training will not be different from one base to another. It will be the same. By upgrading training in one base, it will automatically rise in level in all base locations once the upgrade is finished.
As with any other upgrade, this one too is not safe from issues and small obstacles. Bugs are being fixed as soon as we notice or are informed about them and the new map system should already be functioning smoothly. We would like to thank all our players for their patience and understanding while the implementation was in progress and invite them to use our discord to report any issues they encounter. To reimburse you for your potential troubles, daily rewards have been doubled over the weekend. Enjoy the game and feel free to let us know how you like this new era of Drugwars.

Will the map ever be operational on mobile?
I found only Firefox was able to work on pc. Neither Chrome nor Waterfox would work with the map. Any idea why?
All game parts will be operational on mobile platforms in the future.
As for the pc internet explorers, the map works fine (I am using crome at the moment and have no problem) please make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser, the game will not work properly without it. If that does not help, please contact us in help channel in our discord and someone will surely help you.
Pretty certain Java is enabled on all my browsers, but I’ll double check later. Thanks for the response. If I have trouble I’ll come to the discord. 🙏
So I just checked all of my browsers' settings and each have javascript enabled, but now only Waterfox is working; Chrome and now Firefox do not load the map, just a globe with no spaces.

Did you consider how much of your player base only played the game on mobile before making this change?
I was one of those mobile only players. And now the game is meaningless to me.
What a stupid change to release before being mobile ready.

It is in the works. We can not confirm a specific date since this upgrade took some time and work and is still being closely watched over. The plan was by the end of this month but maybe prolonged a bit.
I have tried to upgrade and create buildings in other bases but seems doesn’t work...

Do you have enough resources in those bases? If so, what happens when you click on upgrade?
I transported them and also tried instant upgrades without success with future tokens and Steem

Hi zen-art....my future production is blocked for weeks, I have 13 daily future but I don't receive one(I think that I've lost minimum 300 future until now, without considering the heist).
Few days ago I tried to withdraw 2 times 50 future and every time I received the message "your account has been suspended, please contact drugwars". I sent a message to drugwars on steem with a memo, but I never received an answer. I love this game, but I don't like that, could you help me?
Have you tried contacting us on discord or only with a memo?

I like the new features but the game just got a lot slower. How am I gonna spy on 21 bases at a time now?
A lot slower? I am not sure I understand what you mean :) The base system enables you to have bigger production and more points of having storage and units located. When you compare it to either old or modern warfare, it is normal that we implemented this to make the game more realistic. Nowhere will you find that all units and all resources are in a single location, that is not safe or logical.
I think you misunderstood. Prior to the upgrade the targets page would allow for a player to Spy on multiple players at once. With the new setup you have to visit the map each time, which takes a lot longer than spying targets on a single page.

Oh, I see what you mean. Before you just entered the name of a player and now you have to find him on the map, yeah, that is the entire point actually BUT if those seconds are too much for you, you could remember or write down the locations from players and then instead of going to the map, enter their locations manually where it says select your target coordinates. I hope that helps :)
Why did you do this? It is incredibly complicated, and the botters are the only ones that benefit from this. I have been playing for months, I read your post, and I have no clue what the purpose of this is. Someone attacked me and took all of my SAFE resources. I am being bot-attacked by people with armies of 10,000+ units. Just the worst trash I have ever seen. You have killed the game. The game only works if it's noob friendly, and this isn't noob friendly.
I already give up from DW too, always bot-attackers... Last year SM was on the focus of people, then DW arrive and everbody prefer it, but not listening the people and with the implementation of DEC, SM back to the first postition for play.
I don't understand why people dont hear their players, they are the base of the game.
No chance to hide since the attackers have to map-coordinates now. Changing name does not help any longer. This did the trick before.
It makes not sense at all to build a new army. They kill it daily with troops of 10000+
How could this work? Spending real money for new excessive army? Just to give them surprise when having 20000 Ninjas tomorrow? I won't
