Notes & process
Yo! I know what you're thinking: "This isn't a poetry post?" You're right. I was in the mood to make some music today. If you want, you can skip this whole explanation and just listen to it at the links above. I had some beatbox ideas in my head, but I started out by laying down a simple bass part on my Yamaha Montage in A=432 hz so I'd be on pitch. Then I recorded some "one-take" beatbox all the way through (meaning a combo of sounds, kick, hi-hat, snare, etc.) Then I recorded some extra snare parts to fatten up those hits. Recording some "auxiliary beatbox" parts that were more technical to fade in and out to vary the rhythms. Came up with a phase clavichord part, and added it. Then I added the only percussion that wasn't beatbox, which was a kick part on my keyboard. I matched the kick pattern exactly to the improvised beatbox.
Next, I improvised some comping on a Electric Piano patch. I also doubled the clav with a distorted delay guitar patch. Then I wrote some vocal parts for the "chorus" to switch up the texture a bit. Last, I added some throat singing into the end, which was related to the first idea that made me start the piece, which I didn't end up adding!
Anyway, I had a lot of fun creating this. It ended up quite rough, I think, but I got it to a state where I felt comfortable to share it. I'm not an audio engineer so I always feel like the mix could be vastly improved, but anyway, the main point was to do something artistically other than poetry! Also to put my beatbox to use, which is really the only musical outlet I practice on a daily basis. I'm going to be uploading everything to soundcloud along with @dsound for those who have issues playing it from @dsound. Thanks for reading/listening and have a wonderful day!

You are very humble @d-pend. The sound came over clear and has a poetic message. Psychedelic funk is the word for this. I really like funk base.
Your drums are ghetto and that is good as I was there in the 80s.
I had to laugh when your deep voice came in like a big Australian deodara. It sounds like you are saying "quiet!" and then going into a short Tuvan throat chant.
There is no excuse for anyone not to listen to this. There is even a sound cloud link.
I confess I had to listen a second time to see if I would laugh again. I didn't laugh the second time. I guess I laugh at the unexpected.
Thanks for everything. I am totally free...
@mineopoly
Hey, I love your comment @mineopoly. To be honest, I usually laugh when it gets to the throat singing part, as well. It's somehow pretty humorous in the context of funk, especially, and at the very end of a track. I really enjoyed the Tuvan throat singing video you shared!
Thank you @d-pend. This music got me to think of Richard Feynman and then the next association was rocket when I heard the news that some banks are going to invest in crypto. One idea spins off another.
I'm really glad to know you through your writing. It has been a learning experience and reflective process.
I really got a lot from you going into your explanation on the process you used to create this track. It was very interesting to read. I like the track a lot, especially the bass line and the beatboxing. I also like how you ended with the throat singing. Really cool.
Hey Steve, I'm glad to hear that was interesting for you. It's one of those things that's pretty dry and boring for some. I include it because a lot of musicians don't explain their process and I think it helps those who are curious.
I'm also happy you like the track! I had a lot of fun with this one... I was making a good bit of music a while back but stopped mainly because of the time it takes, haha! This one took me the better part of Sunday to create. It was so refreshing to work with a medium other than words, though.
I hear you. I also tend to spend a lot of time once I get started on something. The other night I spent about 2 hours creating a back audio track for my most recent poem. But there's nothing like creating. I'm glad to hear your starting to feel the music bug again.
Your compositions skills still improve! Sounds awesome!
Thanks a lot @samvan! Had a fun all-music day on Sunday. :-D Hope your weekend went well!
So cool! I love that deep voice at the end, like some voice from the african tribe...
I didn't forget about that rap thang, still waiting :))
Hahah! I'll rap for class again sometime ;-) And yea, let me get those tracks so you can hear 'em.
Take your time, don't worry, no hurry :))
Do you, maybe, work in Reason app for making music? I made a song for fun 7-8 years ago, and now I'm thinking more and more about doing that again... It's just so good to create something
Actually, I've never used Reason! I know a lot of people who like using it, though. One of my best friends @rusty-jernigan swears by Ableton Live and uses Logic some as well as Max MSP. I used to use FL Studio when I was a teenager making electronic music. However, it's only for Windows and now I have a Mac. So for the time being, I just use Garageband, even though it's not the best program.
It's so amazing to create something! I totally agree @whack.science!
I think I will go back to Reason and start creating something with music... Maybe one day I will combine music and poetry, if my time lets me do it... I will check these apps you use and see what they're all about...
PS I DMed you in discord about poetry :/
Not poetry but you did not disappoint. Beat boxing ... who knew?
Haha, it's one of my favorite things. I used to post more music a while back. It takes much longer than poetry does so I haven't had much opportunity recently. I'm happy it didn't disappoint @prydefoltz!
I can understand that ... I used to post loads of spoken word on youtube ... very time consuming:)
Loved it; really enjoyed the way you combined the beatboxing with the piano, vocals, etc.
Thanks @violetmed! I really had a lot of fun with this one. This is my Easter / April Fool's Funk!
This is awesome man, keep up the funk!
Thanks @reesebrehio, keep it up I shall!
Thanks for sharing the audio link that was really nice to listen to :)

I can't tell by it if you really listened to the song or not, because it reads more like spam/self-promotion!
What a great self promotion keep leaving SPAM and I will start leaving flags today :D \o/

Really liked this one, production reminded me of some seventies Stevie Wonder. Squeezed a whole lot in to a two min track. I featured this track in latest of DSound Gems series of posts I have been doing https://steemit.com/musicreview/@redskylullaby/dsound-gems-vol8-steemit-music-review
