Song #9 from @elamental's debut album, The Hex Wrecker.
First let me explain one line from the song that can be interpreted in two different ways. "...turning dead zombies into presidents" was intended to mean that I can wake people up and shake them alive, morphing them into a successful and aware person that was previously disillusioned or brainwashed. Now keep in mind that I wrote this song well before D. Trump was elected President, but now that he has, it seems that this line can be taken another way. In this context, the sad reality that the United States has elected a mindless zombie for President is just simply being stated.
I get into a few conscious topics in this song, including to remember that no matter where you are or what your situation, it doesn't matter when you create, as long as you are creating awesomeness, it can be from anywhere or anyone. Beautiful creations transcends the borders of judgment, and opens the doors of connection. I also talk about seeing what we can be just by being ourselves, and the answer to the age old question of why are we here, simply put, we are here for each other, to observe, teach, heal, and help each other grow.
I also mention that I hope to see people feel more than just money and entertainment value in their lives, and to look deeper to really see the true values in this world. I then weaved some lines together about how the moon reflects the suns's light, and how I am turning everyone into majikal beings through my verse.
Finally I explain how I create from the soul and spirit within, and how everyone should create their own destiny through their actions. For the outro I quoted a Grateful Dead song called He's Gone. The chorus calls for the crowd to react if they feel my music, and ultimately those lyrics are asking everyone to speak up about what they know is right. If the conscious minded sit silent, there can be no progressive evolution.
Let Me Hear You Say Something by @elamental:
Lyrics:
Ahhhh shiiit
You know what time it is...
Its time for real hip hop. Bringin it back to its purpose
OG.: Original grammar
I am the ELAmental....
I am the ELA-mental
I bringing hip hop back to the source – the starting line
Resurrecting the dead back to life that's how I shine
Necromancy they say it can't be but check the evidence
Its relevant – turning dead zombies into presidents
I know that hard hit hurt but you shirked your duties
I make a good girl drop to her knees and hit that booty
I thought you knew me, but oh shit wait you didn't
I got the rhyme scheme religion with no schisms in it
I'm never finished as i'm living this dreamin'
Never-land, never mind, never wake up the demons
But if you do I'm killin' curses wrecking hexes with words
Leaving evil in the dark all a-nerved whats the word – I make it heard
Real loud our sound sacred styles aligned
I take divine intertwined with our powers combined
then slam it down on the track hard strait out the fucking back yard
and basement, garage, or whatever our placement
Far or near, it matters not
Long as I'm here, and this shit's hot.
So you can feel it.?
Do you feel it?
Let me hear ya say something?
Let me hear ya say something?
I think I need to write a line let me break out my quill
Rhyme skills spine chills hi still
givin you your fill - of the ill - as I spill it
Give you real shine on your mind so your feel it
Bringing forth ability lets keep it real and see
what we can be with our mind and our spirit – hear n'
now got the crown on the present
They got ancient temples broken down for a lesson
I'm here to mix elixirs into powerful potions
Drippin' one drop a this pours out to n' ocean
you know im slowing down for no one and keepin' it open n real son
Show... you the deal - deal it down – from the real one
I'm here to heal vibes and the essence
Nothin' solid on this ground that we steppin' – but whats the message?
Why are we are? For each other - aint that clear?
That is our purpose - avoid the fear if you nervous n' let this hit your ear
Far or near, it matters not
Long as I'm here, and this shit's hot.
So you can feel it?
Do you feel it?
Let me hear ya say something?
Let me hear ya say something?
Everyone's coming at me like this is all a joke
Like I'm a self proclaimed prophet or a holy hoax
I bring the bombs to those then blow em up n shooooooooooow
these mother fuckers who's the spoken pro
Yo – let's break it down for those that don't know
In hopes of these peeps feelin more than dough
Bringing more than show - I'm bringing more than flow
So come go-down the river with the chosen bro
Simpler and similar nada, the complex in this context
throwin out the non-sense I gotta
Do it properly this prophecy has gotta be the right way
Night and day - the sun – portrays - the moon's display
I might just rise and get um create a prism a light
And also, I displaced-the-fake and lit the mic
Making sure I keep this tourch burning – get you to learning
Cuz I'm turnin' - ALL-you-peo-ple into Merlins
Twirlin' wands as I spin 'em out – no doubt - its a blessing
or enchantment I'm enhancing as your danicing coincidental
no-chance-fate - - that's how the rest should be – destiny – create
I make it all from soul and spirit – can't ya hear it?
When ya near it, like now, right here in the crowd n' cheering
Get it up if you feel it - said get it up if you feel it
And like the Grateful Dead said, if there's a face then steal it
Far or near, it matters not
Long as I'm here, and this shit's hot.
So you can feel it?
Do you feel it?
Let me hear ya say something?
Let me hear ya say something?
(Outro: quoted from The Grateful Dead's, He's Gone)
"Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb. You know better, but I know him. Like I told you, like I said. Steal your face right off your head." Chorus said "now he's gone..."
Let me hear you say something...
