It is a pleasure for me to present today's song "Noche Vieja" (Old Night). It is an energetic Aguinaldo - Parranda by Rafael Salazar. Salazar is a composer and musicologist committed to our culture and, in addition, he is a researcher and promoter of the autochthonous of Venezuela and Latin America. This Aguinaldo was composed by Salazar in the year of 1987, expressly for the Luango Group and at the request of these to include it in an Album dedicated to the Christmas songs.
"Noche Vieja" is a vigorous Aguinaldo whose musical texture is recreated in the form of Parranda similar to those played and sung in the central area of Venezuela. In this opportunity, we will hear the original version that was recorded by the Luango Group of Venezuela in the album titled Luango is Christmas. In this album, I had the opportunity to play the Mandolin, next to the excellent guitarist Miguel Delgado Estévez, back in the year of 1988. I hope it will please you all.
