Can someone please put me in a time machine and take me back 3 and a half months to when I was in New Zealand and where this pictures was taken please? In return, I'll drive you around the country and take you to some pretty awesome places you probably wouldn't have experienced before? How does that sound :D
Haha, in all seriousness though, it's been a challenging August and when I was out in NZ, it was nice to live in the moment and be BS free - the freedom that travelling gives you isn't just in the sense of location independence but also there really is nothing stopping you doing whatever you damn well feel like. No societal crap to put up with, the internet is mostly switched off except to research or book your next accommodation... you really are in your own bubble. Who's to say that we can't just pack up shop and life "off grid" - hey if you have the means to do that, why not, I'd be happy for you!
What I've noticed since I've been back - there's a lot of misery about the place for one reason or another and like a sponge, I seem to absorb it and it's having an adverse affect. I'm doing my best to keep positive but sometimes you just have to vent in your own sacred place to people you completely trust and I thank those I speak to in private for letting me rant today about some of the premium BS that's been especially delivered to me. You know who you are who I've confided in and I'm grateful!
So how do we combat this BS that we find ourselves in? Well, the challenge is to not let it get to you so much that it causes an explosive reaction. The phrase "straw that breaks the camel's back" is probably appropriate when you get to that point. The trick to overcome it? Recognise that you're in a high emotional state and withdraw yourself from the situation, take a walk outside for a couple of minutes, cool off and then come back. Can't get out of the situation? Take a deep breath, say nothing, exhale, say nothing. Take another deep breath, count to 5 seconds, exhale and then say something in calm manner, "OK..." This gives the logical part of your brain enough time to get involved and stop the emotional part of your brain causing you more grief with saying something you might regret.
That's what I've learnt this past couple of weeks, sometimes it's been tougher than other days to keep my mouth shut and not react but hey, challenge accepted world!
The track I've uploaded tonight - Your Time Is Now - is all about living in the moment and realising that this may be the only life you have. So, are you happy? What can you do to be happy that's in your control? How long will it realistically take to get there? It becomes a lot easier when you have a target and a time frame and get your logical thinking going. That's not to say emotions aren't good but what are the emotions and are they good or bad?
Sorry for the deep vibe here, I just had a lot to get off my chest and feeling better already. Hope this helps if you're going through a tough time of late, at least we have a track out of it hey :)

Hey @c-squared! Thanks a lot for the curation and support on this one 😊
thanks for the sound track Nick. My time now is to listen and curate a few posts:)
Haha I see what you did there! Thanks for stopping by and listening in @michaelb! Hope the curation is going well!
BOOM!
Good advice you're giving yourself, there, @nickyhavey and I hope you're taking it. I also think that taking the pressure off yourself is good. I have to admit that I've got over the guilt of not having posted anything of any significance, let alone made any "real" comments, except well, you know the one.... Now I'm having to work through my mental list of things I want to blog about. I'm so pleased to have a couple of "off afternoons" during which I can "collect" myself. It's quite a skill learning how not to run on empty...sometimes a necessary evil.
I'm sure you'll gather yourself towards yourself and find the right balance....
Be well.
I have to keep reminding myself to take this advice sometimes as it's very easy to get taken away in the moment. I'm still posting and not quite got over the guilt side of it all yet!
An actual pen and paper list is probably what's missing to help keep on top of things. Then can cross off what's done and what's to do. Still amounts to lots though 😁
You're right though, sometimes it is a necessary evil and we probably appreciate the quiet time even more.
There are a few things that will be out of the way by the time the end of November comes which will help free up mental resources but there's also a few ongoing things that just need to find systems for to make them as easy to deal with as possible. I'm a sucker for efficiency 😀
Thanks for the words of encouragement and listening to me rant and rave the last week my friend!
No less than you did for me....
Congratulations @nickyhavey!
You raised your level and are now a Dolphin!
