Trying out new software is always fun, had never heard of Mulab until yesterday but it was very cheap and is exactly what I was looking for - small and simple to use, although I am still getting my head around automation within it (which is why there is no fade at the end lol).
Highly recommended and it's free for basic projects so give it a try @ mutools.com/mulab-product.html
In other news, I still can't play first thing in the morning and I need to find a 64bit limiter for mixdown but we all good :D

never heard of this one. Ableton is what im using now. I used pro tools for a long time, but am glad i switched.
Yeah I have been stuck with cubase for a long time but my version was 32bit and the upgrade is ridiculous in terms of cost and of course the fact that modern cubase is very bloated with a heap of stuff I don't even care about. I needed 64bit to use Helix and try all the new plugins from IK etc, I was using reaper but even that is annoying - Mulab seems perfect so far, all the stuff I like about Cubase (midi sequencing etc) and less bs. The install is less than 100mb instead of 5gb plus for modern Cubase.
i use midi and soft synths alot. Ableton has really awesome midi tools. Also its really easy to create sub-mixes, which i like doing. If you like soft synths you should check out Diva and Serum.
Have tried serum but not diva, really i only use midi for sequencing or recording drums and the odd pad/choir. Lots of people love ableton but my main focus is always audio so i err on the side of familiarity mostly.
