MISC LOOP - Music for Games by @playitforward
Game Project with Nightmare Contract
This was an example of a game project that had a nightmare outcome. The developer had a deal with me for a set amount of money $$$. But the contract wasn't clear about him owning the music or what it means to own music. There's royalty that's writer's share and that is publisher's share. People don't often know that it's divided like this. Whoever writes a piece of music legally owns the piece at it's conception. So when there's discussion of how that might be used in a project, generally speaking you could own it, or you could have rights to use it under certain parameters.
Anyways, this piece was the last I did for a client because after getting underpaid, he demanded ownership. I offered him a buyout for double the original hiring fee to own the piece. I created it under the understanding that I would be able to sell it elsewhere to earn more $ from it. He didn't agree, and now I'm selling it elsewhere and uploading it where I want because I own the creators copyright. The artists power is more than we think by the boys upstairs.
Creative
Creatively speaking this is like a piece that a robot would dance to with orchestral elements added. I love the clicky elements added in percussively. I don't even remember how that was done. It has the machine like pumping pulse throughout the track that helps drive the feeling of it.
Music like this always needs to loop. That's something people don't get about game music, is usually it is looping. If it's a cutscene or something then maybe not. But games are supposed to follow the player's command. Thus, reacting to where you move. Often people don't move as fast as game devs think. Thus needing the looped music to fit anyone and everyone's needs to have the ultimate experience that they can.

Nice music ...we can use it for adventure games..
Yeah! It's meant for a platformer adventure game.
Hey @playitforward, great post! I enjoyed your content. Keep up the good work! It's always nice to see good content here on Steemit! Cheers :)
@exxodus, you know how infrequently people comment just something purely encouraging on here without asking for a follow or upvote? It's really nice of you and helps motivate the projects. Thank you.
keep up the good work
Thanks @yousufpatan.
good music in the hearing
@playitforward That's really a nice piece. Soothing and kinda trippy. I hope your contract clarifies ownership, royalties, and usage now. It's not cool to get manipulated.
