Sweet Simple Things...

Another remix from the vault...

This was put together for a remix contest on MetaPop fall of 2016.

I hadn't done much producing the year and a half prior, just getting back into it after spending a week in my buddy Martin East's studio reexploring the passion. The indie-pop stems came to my attention right while I was about to start volunteer for the Wealth Dynamics Masters event held by Entrepreneurs Institute - a network and system I'd loved for years, who I've volunteered for previously to get in. I was also DJing a round of their events for the second time - though that year, had felt a bit out of resonance with the whole thing.

As I was about to move back to Canada, it'd be my last chance to hang out with the whole crew. Yet, my heart wasn't fully into it - and simultaneously, I had come across this remix contest and was pressed for time to finish it off. It was a weird turning point, as it felt I was facing the choice of carrying on giving myself to this group of entrepreneurs with unclarity about what I was actually offered and why exactly I was there beyond thinking it was cool - versus actually putting the time and effort into moving forward on my passion, putting my musical talent to work with this challenge at hand.

So, it came together.

As with many of my productions, I can't quite pigeonhole this into any particular category.

Though the original track could be considered indie-pop, the remix defies any set genre - just the way I like it.

And now, it's about time to shut up and let the music speak for itself.

Do listen - as always - on a QUALITY set of cans/speakers to get the fully-optimized listening experiencing, as there are alot of cool fine details in this one that can be missed without the proper attention or listening apparatus.

ENJOY.

That´s the key word, bro: enjoy...thanks.

sweet? or simple? or things? lol.

Very good @rok-sivante .. I have followed you 🙏

There is nothing to say about a beautiful review with a great music

eh, not my style music but still great job ;]

Love the subtle beats! I've been into the "chill" type of music for a while now. The original song has that indie vibe to it but I think your remix gave it a nice fun twist. Thanks for sharing! Keep 'em coming, @rok-sivante!

interesting... I'm honestly completely clueless as what genre I'd fit it into, wouldn't have at all thought "subtle beats" or "chill." ha ha. :-)

pretty sticky really

Wow.. Such technique! Sweet but far from simple! Kudos :-)

Great remix bro!
