is a form of prayer... As Rumi says, 'there are a hundred ways to bow and kiss the ground.'Yes, @shawnamawna I think this
Poetry is often how I pray. Through verse, I am able to find/share my stillness, give thanks, even somehow create an echo for the profound silence that centers and soothes me... Below, is such a meditative and devotional poem of mine, that I hope might also resonate with you:
Breath
Beneath the intricate network of noise
there’s a still more persistent tapestry
woven of whispers, murmurs and chants
It’s the heaving breath of the very earth
carrying along the prayer of all things:
trees, ants, stones, creeks and mountains alike
All giving silent thanks and remembrance
each moment, as a tug on a rosary bead
while we hurry past, heedless of the mysteries
And, yet, every secret wants to be told
every shy creature to approach and trust us
if only we patiently listen, with all our senses.
This is beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. 💙
