Hello everyone!
Today we had the chance to go snorkeling off the coast of Mauritius. How lucky we are!
Having recently cashed in some SBD for some travel funds and a GoPro, this was a great opportunity to test it out.
This is my first video edit - no choice but to learn or else you'd spend a lot of time staring at coral.
Have a look at what we saw today!
Asher @abh12345 and Sylvia @osm0sis
Cheers!

Awesome vid Ash!
You know what makes snorkeling better? A metal detector. Find them gold rings that the tourists have lost. At least that is what I did when I lived in Hawai'i.
Whoa, no way!! Haha that's so cool!! I never ever have thought about using a metal detector in the water! Usually, the stereotype is just people walking along the beach finding mostly only trash haha
I found enough gold and platinum rings that I couldn't hold them all in one hand!
😮😮 wow I know what I'm doing on my next beach vacay haha
I've seen some serious metal seekers, if i spot one this some he'll be starring on @dtube! :D
I mean I guess it's better than seeking meth lol
Yes I don't think a metal detector is handy there! Maybe once you've found something of worth.....
😂😂 dtube, meth version
Thanks man!
I've seen guys with full on dive gear and metal detectors doing that in Mallorca - it must be worth their time!
I love listening to all the little fish nibbling at the coral... pop pop pop.
And the territorial yellow-eyed spikey fish. He's my favourite.
Great job on the video montage. First time is never really fun but it worked out super well and will be easier to edit from now on :)
Thank you 😁
It's a pain in the ass to edit but should become easier.
Pop pop 😁
yep, props to you, I know how much time it takes! You did great
I think part of it is learning the software and the other part is the time it takes the software to do stuff!
Thank you!
Thats exciting looks like you guys had a lot of fun there.indeed the reef has great underwater life of amazing some of the creation.
But you really freakout that fish between 2.50-3.00.hope they didn't get mad at you.😉
I think they did a little, we were invading their space - naughty humans!
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that was epic. I've never done that, but on the other hand.. I've never been in the Indian Ocean either. Actually, I haven't travelled anywhere at all for 20 years. But this was really, really cool! Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks man!
Feeling lucky to have the chance to do it, would never have happened without Steemit and the Xmas SBD pump!
Maybe in a year or two we'll all be doing it 😁🤞🏽
That's awesome. You both deserve it! :)
In a year or two.. Yeah, maybe. Only time will tell!
Looks amazing 😁
Watch out for sea urchins! I stepped on one in Thailand and was limping for a month 😫
Oh and I loved the vicious black fish! 😁
Urchins! Yes I was very careful when going over those, did not want to get spiked!
Those ones were cool. Defending their territory with honour and looking very angry! 😁
That must have been very cool! I can see you enjoyed yourselves and the laugh of Sylvia under the water sounds special! I saw a lot of black and white fish and at the end one beautiful green one. No sharks I presume!
Have fun, and I hope the SBD will rise enough to give you a lot more happy days.
Haha yes, she is giggling at the territorial fish that go for your finger when you imviade their space!
It was a fun day and a unique experience for sure. Thank you @clio!
Just saw your post @abh12345.
While you were doing that, I was in an office at work.
Hmmm...I need to readjust things somehow.
Thanks for sharing your experiences with us...I am happy you are taking the time to enjoy yourself.
I have to admit I would not swap the sea for a desk chair!
Its a pleasure to share, and hopefully I'll be able to revisit these memories again here in future.
Thank you!
I am sure the footwear you use is much better than a pair of loafers like I am having to wear.
Keep the posts coming....looking forward to your SOG update each week....the numbers keep growing.
flip flops for me! Need to air the feet and give them room to relax :)
SOG update in about 24 hours i think, cheers!
This is really cool I wish I had the chance to learn how to scuba dive around where I live! There is old ship wrecks mostly back from the war that you can reach just off the coast of one of the islands! I think it would be amazing to go in around their!
I also remember a time I was at Florida and snorkeled at one of the parks I got freaked out when I see a little shark that they had in the pool where you could snorkel. I wish I could go back now and do the same thing I was way to young and skittish back then!
I would be creeped out around a Shipwreck!
haha, sounds like you need a confidence builder - maybe start in the baby turtle pool? :D
Thanks for the comments!
I do like turtles hmmmm. But it was four ore carriers that got sunk by German U boats so it would definitely a really cool site to see.
I also left you a comment regarding the curation contest on your other post :)
For sure!
Ok, sorted now hopefully!
Well swimming really the camera you used in taking the picture seems water proof is It?
Well I'd say you both look so adorable swimming, cheers to you both
Thank you very much!
Yes the GoPros are waterproof. The first time you submerge it though, it's a strange feeling pushing an electrical item under water!
Cheers!
I would be wondering if it wont blow up or get spoiled lol, the first time I submerge it in water well we have amazing water here in Africa maybe someday you'd come with @osmosis
😊😊😊😊
Whereabouts do you live in Africa?
Yes Africa, Nigeria to be precise. you could go to South Africa, they have amazing beaches
This is a delightful photo. You have got an excellent installation. Nothing superfluous and it's cool. It's great for you there under the water, and I have snow outside.
Snow thanks! :D
Thanks @cranium, hours to shoot and hours to edit (but still better than snow i think!)
.
How was the coral over there? as you can see it's seen better days here.
Thanks very much, stick another jumper on!
Man! Seems like life is treating you guys well ! That black fish was really fisty haha 😂 Please send my regards to Sylvia
haha yeah, Sylvia's finger was on his patch! Will do, cheers!
Wow that video was amazing. I made a bucket list posts about a week ago and one thing on it was go snorkling. The fish looked so beautiful. I followed you and i cant wait to see more amazing content

Oh, I almost missed this one! Very nice.
Thank you!
Lots of bubble and pop noises and dead coral :( But lots of fish at times!
@abh12345, I'm so happy you traded SBD for great memories! You deserve it! It looks like a blast!
The best use for them! :D

Impressed by the colours of some of those fishes! And the water! Doesn't look spoiled at all... Gorgeous. I'm thinking about getting my PADI diving certificate, this really makes my mouth water... SBD cashouts for me too, maybe? ;-)
Sounds exciting, you'll see better corals and more fish down there! :D

Thanks @blazing, yes an amazing experience!
That was a lot of fish! I would have been tempted to take a net out and catch some. lol
GoPro in one hand, net in the other? 😁
All while swimming at the same time. lol I wonder what kind of fish those were.
Hiii @abh12345,
So nice the adventurer tour as Snorkeling in the Indian Ocean! I saw your excitement here under the sea alongwith @osm0sis I think that was nice experience with joy. i am thankful to you that you made it possible for us to visit here due to video.I like these so much small fishes here around you. Sylvia is more excited and happy she try to touch the fish with her finger snd i listen her giggles. Thats right you enjoyed by cashing out your SBD for travell. Thanks to Steemit. Take care and My best wishes for you Asher.
Wow, what a beautiful scenery of sea life and coral reefs. By the way how much the coral reefs are distanced from sea level?
Thanks!
Here, not far at all - 2/3 metres. And, not too far from the shore, hence the reason why they are not doing too good :(
I'd say this is really good for your first video edit! Love the video. You know, now you will have to do more videos?
Thank you!
Yes i'll have to do more to pay off the GoPro! :D
it was beautiful to see the under water fun nice video :)
thank you!
Very cool! It's great, that the water is so readable and transparent, that you can see such beauty!
