If you are living in a region where winter can be long and you just want spring to arrive, I feel you.
One of my close collaborators and I have recently bought three vintage lenses to add to our small collection. If you do photography and/or video, you should seriously consider looking into vintage lenses.
What we bought
Pentacon 50mm 1.8
Soligor 28mm 2.8
Opticam 35mm 2.8
Although it is becoming more trendy, prices are still way more affordable than modern lenses. Also, you don’t get the «colder» or sharper look that modern lenses have. There is a look, a feel and warmth that comes with vintage lenses.
As I am still new to this, all I can say is it’s worth a little bit of your time to research what is out there. Your look and your style could both gain from these old pals.
About the video
The creation of J'aime l'hiver was a spontaneous shoot that lead to a quick post-production. Sometimes keeping it simple and just going for it can breed a nice little creation. I always strive to get the maximum quality out of a process, but recently I've been wanting to create more frequently instead of waiting for a contract or funds for a personal project. And through rapid collaboration with my friend Jean-François Gauthier, this video came to be.Thank you for watching and reading.

Alex! You already know how moved I am by this little gem. It almost makes me miss winter. I am so supportive of you creating little stories. It takes work to allow oneself to create spontaneously without thinking too much about it. Sometimes the hesitation kills the creativity.
Looking forward to the next one. :D
Claire, I am happy this got to you the way it did. Thank you. It's an interesting balance to just go for it and going for quality at the same time. I am enjoying this kind of creative exploration.
Dude, this is very cool! You've managed to take a biting cold scene and give it a beautiful warmth. I didn't realize vintage lenses held warmer tones, like you're revealing here.
Yep, vintage lenses do offer you that something modern lenses don't. Color correction, done by my friend, brings the images to where it's at in the video. You should look into it man. Thank you for your appreciation!
