Make a Wish Foundation - Sand sculpture timelapse

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

A little one day sand sculpture made for the Make a Wish Foundation in Ireland. It was a photo opportunity to make the wish of sick children who wanted to be an astronaut come true.
Children could stand on a step at the back with their face through the mask.
It was later nominated for an ICAD award (institute of creative advertising and design award)

OMG, another crazy post, the other guy did a jackie chan mini figure, then this guy did a sand sculpture... so many crazy talented individuals in steem. the hell

Yes I saw the Jackie Chan post. Amazing. So much detail in the palm of your hand. I usually work on a much bigger scale. My eyes can't focus that close anymore. Thanks for you comment.

Lovely sculpture, and perfectly chosen moon landing background sound to go with it. I was wondering why the face was hollow until I read the description - so sweet!

Thank you for checking this out.

Very creative my friend @ammonite

Thank you

What a wonderful idea! And a very noble cause. The sculpture is of course amazing as always. Did anyone keep track, of how many photos were taken?

Thank you. Sand has lots of possibilities for photo opportunities and i enjoy making them. Not sure how many used it I had already moved on when they arrived.

Can't believe how you could create that hole without the sand above falling down :-o

Once the sand is compacted it gets quite strong but every sand is different so it's only as i start work i learn how far that particular sand can be pushed.

Fragile and stable at the same time... a little bit like glass. Your work is really fascinating!
