A agree DTube is a great idea, but it these things would make it better:

If Steemit integrates the video tag, so it can show directly in your blog. I like to comment and vote whilst listening to the video, and prefer not to trust my posting key to another party at this stage.
I like to listen (to most vlogs) at 1.25 or 1.5 speed, which the standard video player can't do. I wonder if this kind of facility is easy to provide, or if a big change is required.

There may also be an issue with how to deal with copyright infringements, and illegal content on a decentralised basis. I wonder how much consideration this has been given. Whilst I don't like any kind of censorship, there are very powerful forces that will require some safeguards I suppose, and those kind of governance issue could be very important IMO.
