After seeing The Rise of Skywalker in theaters, I knew that I wanted to learn one of the pieces that was pivotal in that movie. I had narrowed it down between March of the Resistance and this one here, deciding after a few days that this piece had gone on more of an evolution and that this part of the saga was more of a story about Rey.
This theme is wonderful and really grew on me. The very first time I heard it, when she was climbing into the fallen Star Destroyer at the beginning of episode VII, I noticed that it had a certain innocent charm to it. The piece almost felt like a piece that would have been written for Harry Potter instead of Star Wars. But as the movies unfolded, the theme made more and more sense as the primary theme for Rey.
Thank you John Williams for the wonderful adventure of music through all 9 films and for how this piece helped weave together the stories of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.
Enjoy,
Logan
