2 Minutes with the Farmer: DIY Projects for Extra Money!$!$

in #dtube5 years ago

Today on 2 Minutes with the Farmer we are talking DIY projects for extra money. Last year I started making wood furniture out of an old barn and it is really starting to pick up. Last week we had a family buy 7 pieces of our custom wood furniture for their new house. Wanted to talk about ideas for making extra money. We all can use some extra cash flow. What are some of your ideas?

Thank you for watching and spending 2 minutes with me!

Excellent bookcase, but that is what would expect from you brother! What do you sell that size bookcase for? Let's say I wanted a 6 foot bookcase, what would you charge me for that?

We have been selling the 4 ft book cases like the one in the video for $125. But I would make you a good deal;)

Excellent to know! What would a 6 foot one cost if you were to build and sell one?

Oh and thanks for the offer to make me a good deal!

Would probably be in the $200 range.

And seeing as it is built to last that sounds like a good deal to me!

Your video's are always inspiring, the oak wood is so weathered, definitively makes for some unique furniture ideas.....Keep up the good work.

Thank you for the encouragement!

Great video. I've been thinking about doing the same thing with aspen for a little extra money on the homestead. Thanks for the encouragement. Upvoted and Followed.

I think you should go for it. Never know until u try

Love to see the old wood repurposed into a lovely book shelf!
Have you ever considered selling your goods and wares at the Homesteaders Coop which accepts USD, STEEM, SBD, and now Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH)plus bartering. And there is no middle man so no fees - all the profits goes to the producer.

It's always great to have multiple avenues of income. As an avid woodworker, it's a hard business. Just like farming etc. Putting all of your eggs in one basket, especially as a farmer/homesteader isn't the best idea, so great job on diversifying. Great job on the bookcase and using reclaimed materials.

Thank you. Yes multiple streams of income are a must on the farm or homestead. Have a great day

Thanks for sharing your creative and inspirational video!

Awesome video! Nice looking book shelf! I really like the idea of living in more of a homestead situation. I am buying a house this year and will be working towards that. I really want to get some livestock and try my hand at growing as much of my own food as possible. Ill be keeping an eye on your channel to get as many tips as i can. Thanks!!

Those are awesome goals. It takes a lot of hard work but there is no better lifestyle. Best of luck to you

thanks so much

Howdy sir Farmer! not bad for an amateur. wasn't encouraging though. Hey I really like that rusty metal roofing back of it. That right there probably saves 50 lbs in weight!

It does save a lot of weight. But it still takes 2 people to move it. It will hold a whole library;)

Built like a tank! Great job sir Farmer. And they are slowly selling at that shop?
What does somethiing like that go for?

Yes they are slowly selling. I sell bookshelves like that for $125

That's excellent, all you got in it is your time basically, well, the stain or paint. Plus it's a great example for the kids to get ideas of making things on the side to sell.
