Today on 2 Minutes with the Farmer we are talking hay. Hay is the single biggest expense in our farm and this time of year is when we buy it all. We purchase around 500 5x5 rolls of hay to feed our cattle and goats through the winter months. Finding high quality hay is always a challenge. Check out our supply thus far.
Thank you for spending 2 minutes with me!

Alfalfa! lol. Not the hay, do you know the Little Rascals? Anyway, dang, 500 bales! geez. maybe you should get cattle that aren't such pigs!
;)
Do you get or grow alfalfa at all @bowentroyer? In our area alfalfa is the staple. So you can imagine how everyone suffered during the drought! Since the first heavy rains earlier this year (HalleluYAH) it's flourishing again and we were finally able to cut and bale
No we do not alfalfa here is only used for horses and it is about three times more expensive than the grass hay we use for the cattle and goats. I am glad the rains finally came for you. Good to hear from you again. Hope you and your family are doing well

Just getting started
That certainly looks like a lot of work.

My son knocked down the first small field yesterday. I’m still out playing on vacay . We are hoping to put up small bails to sell and bu big rounds from the neighbor.
