Uploading Issues on D-Tube

in #dtube7 years ago

I seem to be having some problems with D-Tube stalling or timing out and not uploading my thumbnail. It continues to just say 'Uploading Snap.' But it doesn't actually upload it. Is this because there's a limited file size or file type? It shouldn't take an image uploader more than maybe 30 seconds to place a thumbnail on a video. Also, are there any advised files types to use for photos and video?

How long is it taking everyone else to upload onto D-Tube? I'm just wondering if this is common and temporary...or maybe it normally takes more than 30 minutes?

Sort:

the thumbnail should be under 600 KB. I uploaded a .png earlier today and had no problem once it was under 600 KB.

If you pressed submit before everything was finished uploading/connecting, this might have caused your problem. First time, I uploaded I hit submit before everything was done, and the upload stalled out.

Ah. Let's see if that solves the problem. The photo I was using is a JPG file and it says it's 11.1 KB. Should I wait for the video to upload before uploading the image?

I didn't, but I wouldn't click the submit video until everything has uploaded.

I'm curious, after step 1(upload a video) did 4-5 more bars about IFPS and queues and such come up? If the photo from your post is a screenshot, it looks like your video might not have loaded.

Your video file may be what's the problem. Is it .mp4 with a 10 Mbps bitrate?

Yes I did get those bars and it looks like they auto-populated at the bottom. It's just the snap part that keeps giving me problems.

In the spot where the video is supposed to be after it's uploaded, I'm not seeing anything either

hmm, maybe take a snap as opposed to uploading one? might not be the pic you want, but could be less trouble.

I seem to have been able to figure out the problem. I use Sony Vegas Pro and I was trying to upload the video from a rendering format that DTube must not like. After I rendered it a different way, it accepted my image in about 1 second lol. So it was the video the whole time. That's my theory anyway

I was having the same problem. Using Firefox and using a Take Snap generated image seemed to solve it (for the video I just did at least).

I had issues with the snapshot as well, and someone had mentioned using firefox. That worked for me.
