When CIA Director John Deutch made a laughable and ill-advised attempt to placate and con the people at ground zero of the Crack epidemic, the residents shouted him down and made plain that they knew who was behind the massive drug operation in their neigborhoods.
Reporter Gary Webb didn't make any friends with the CIA, either, with his "Dark Alliance" series exposing the CIA's role in trafficking crack in the land of the Crips and Bloods.
Great directors like John Singleton have brought more awareness of the mass poisoning of the black community by our "government" with his series "Snowfall."
And, thanks to movies like "Kill the Messenger," the world knows a little more about the nefarious ways of the same government agency that brought us the Iran-Contra scandal."
But where did another popular drug, LSD, come from? With LSD making a resurgence in America, it might be a good time to ask how that drug's wide-spread use came to America.
Turns out LSD wasn't the concoction of some hippies in a California commune--it was discovered by a Swiss chemist named Albert Hofmann.
