While I agree 100% with you, if you don't like changes after people spent money, Drug Wars is 100x worse. They even went so far to stop giving people who spent money any rewards if they are tired of playing as they now shut off rewards and put accounts into "vacation" mode if you don't keep playing. The game is structured as a ponzi.
What really concerns me about Magic Dice the most is their "investor" is almost 300,000 Steem in the hole playing the game and makes my massive Magic token holdings look like a few coins found in my couch. I have a hard time believing he isn't receiving any of these loses back behind the scenes.
That sucks. I didn't realize that they shut off rewards and started putting people in vacation mode. I was hoping to be able to find someone who doesn't play anymore and use them as a faucet. Probably not going to happen now.
I suspect their resources still grow, they just can't make any rewards.
Yeah. Kind of curious about that because if their resources are still growing it makes me wonder what happens to their percentage of the drug share. If the rewards aren't getting paid out and their percentage stays the same then the rewards must be going somewhere. If their percentage drops to zero then it would put extra drugs in the game also screwing up the math. To keep their math working correctly they could dump the rewards from vacation mode into the heist but I really doubt that's what's going on. I imagine the Developers are just pocketing it.
I think they are just ignoring it all together once in vacation mode so it goes to both indirectly. No one who signed-up, signed-up under the impression they would stop getting rewards when they give up playing.

The token will be created as an SMT (as soon as they will be available) and then listed on the available SMT exchanges, I believe. So it can take some time, unfortunately.

I never got into magic dice but I appreciate the information that you're providing. It's good to know about these things. I agree that they shouldn't have changed the rules part way through. What's the point of creating a set of rules or a white paper if you're going to change it at another date in a way that best suits your current situation. I appreciate the fact that you are standing up for your own principles and values.

Yea you always run the risk of flags coming your way but what is right is right.....and if you support what is wrong than your greed is more important than the long term success of the blockchain.
Blaah... I played also when it was 25 tokens per 1 STEEM. I already lost something like 100 STEEM into this game, only reason being to accumulate tokens. Not going to play or resteem anything from them either out of principle, when they do questionable changes like this. Should've kept the rules as they are, or they should at the very least double the tokens of those who played at 25 and quadruple the tokens of those who played with the 12.5 distribution – those players are the ones being disregarded with these changes. We should hold these gambling apps to a higher standard and not ruin the credibility of our blockchain.

I think they understood most people were playing to grind tokens. Tokens go down = people play less as they get more demotivated.

Time to start downvoting posts they make perhaps? I would love to see a poker game (TX holdem, blackjack) on the blockchain. At least then when the house always wins it wont be so deceptive. I am happy I didn't get involved in the gambling games now. At least in the drugwars game you can talk to the developers and they have reputations to defend, so their feet are in the fire to build a good game.
I haven’t played magic dice before but I’ve seen a lot of blog posts about it. That does suck though for all of the people that worked hard to get some several hundred thousand tokens.

Excellent review @broncnutz and you are right, we all need to pay attention to such things and think carefully about it!
I have grinded through 300000 steem at 12.5 magic reward so these changes are a kick in the teeth, however it was clear to me that changes were needed as volume was really struggling. I feel most bad feeling could have been avoided with a simple disclaimer saying "magicdice is still in experimental mode and magic rewards may be changed in future"
That said magicdice does have some real promise and they do seem to be doing good work.

I make few comments that i disagree with this and it is not fair under they post and also on discord but i didnt get much support. some they told me that i should be happy that they offer this privilage🤔
By the way yes i still try to get some more tokens because i need to rise my account's vallue so i will be not a small fish if i share my opinion. But you are right in both cases with steembet and also with this.

I am on it to grow fast. The past week i bought around 2000 steem. Also collecting 3 different kind of tokens hope they will worth something.
But to tell you frankly even without this issues the blockchain is suffering. Maybe most of the people dont see but it is not like how it should be now.
The onboarding is not going well because everything is delegated to a bots or promo services. And like this we will have a hard time to grow more minnows or dolphins.
More SP holder will be good also for the price but the greedyness ruin this. Everyone care about the income but just few people with the onboarding and keeping the users here. Lil bit a same feeling like when you go to a store and no customers.

Just like drugwars... These game devs are flipping all over the place with the rules... It is definitely a let down to anyone who had been lead on to think and strategize differently. For me personally, STEEM has been a fun and exciting test of a very real and adoptable example of blockchain usage. Let’s keep things from getting overly corrupt with greed.

Magicdice is great for those who made bots and play on small amounts all day to mine. They made this change to benefit the bot users. Once they get rid of 40 or 50% of the tokens, they will move on to the next venture after the players drop. It's an insane amount of money being spent there and you're absolutely right less people will play once you are only getting 6 tokens per Steem bet and dividends drop off a cliff.
At least they are better that SteemBet.

Yes I was trying to accumulate the Magic tokens, and I've lost all my Pot more than many times gambling Magic dice.
Now with this dilution... it sucks
It wasn't even worth using the resource credits to resteem, so I didn't. Everyone who should want to know about Magic Dice by now surely already does.
The "redistrubution" of token distribution is a decision they've made, and I agree that it's not great for early users of the platform.
I was delegating a small amount of SP, and I just get some small daily dust now as a result.

I didn’t tell anyone that MD was a “scam” I said actually that the game was fair and you weren’t gettin cheated BUT changing the rules for magic token was wrong to do to investors.
