I think the topic of upvoting is important in steem blockchain and that's why I talk about it at least once a month. We have to always think about how to upvote steem users and especially those who are in need. The upvote not only make people earn the money, but also it motivates them to stay here and to create more.
I think upvoting posts is much better than upvoting comments. When someone join steem he/she starts to do his best to write quality posts. By time that person start to improve more and more if he/she sees the support of the community. A lot of users are making their best to write a good post and even spend a few hours writing and formating it. Why we need to upvote comments if the upvote is limited. Do we care about all the community or only about our followers ?
The other thing I noticed that some people like to upvote with very little amount, sometimes even less than 10%. I think they lose money that way, because if we don't always upvote with 100%, we will earn less curation reward. Also people do that to upvote as much steemians as they can, but I think it's better to give good upvotes to a few people than to give everybody very tiny ones.
I'm not talking about whales who have a very good upvote and for them even less than 10% is a good upvote, but I'm talking about minnows and dolphins who have an upvote less than $1.
I also noticed that a lot of steem users upvote those people who are already upvoted very well, thinking that they will earn more curation rewards from that. But steem blockchain doens't work like that, it's better to upvote those who are not upvoted very well to have the chance of earning a good curation reward in case someone more powerful than you upvote after you.
Those are my ideas about upvoting.
