How to Use Details to Make Your Content Instantly More Interesting

in #dtube5 years ago (edited)

Hi Friends!

Something I'm excited to start working on in my own content is using more details to make things interesting and relatable. This is HUGE! In this vlog I talk through why details can be so powerful and how to avoid people just mindlessly scrolling past your content because you didn't grab their attention.

I also give three examples of "vague" statements like Step into your Power that you might see people say (or even use in your own content... not judging) and how to flip that on its head and say something that's far more interesting and relatable.

I hope you find this video interesting and maybe even helpful! If you have any other ideas or examples of how to sprinkle in details to make your content more interesting - then please jump into the conversation and share below!

XO, Lea

I really enjoyed this. I have just upgraded my internet speed so I can do a whole lot more uploading here to DTube. What I like about this is that I was building up a series of mental blocks and perfectionism regarding doing videos and it just means not actually recording and uploading anything at the end of the day.
Sometimes it takes just doing it until you are in a position to make better videos. Or at least, that's my philosophy anyway.

That's a great philosophy!! Like most skills... videos get easier the more you do them. What a fun next step that you'll be able to upload and make more videos!

DTube still has it's issues, but the idea that I can record, edit, make thumbnails and upload video on the one portable device is pretty exciting don't you think?

Just love your 3 points. Yeah, people are so vague, everyone is a motivational speaker. There's nothing wrong if they feel that way, but I don't get the motivation form all of that. And maybe they don't even feel that.
So yeah, relating can be an interesting thing. I would love to hear or read things that are more relatable. :)

Thanks @rem-steem! I'm really glad you enjoyed this video. Yeah I'm so over seeing really generalized motivational phrases from people... barf.

Great work, @coruscate. Creating content that grabs and keeps attention is not easy. But it’s ultimately worthwhile!

Thanks Jayna!! I'm glad you liked this video! 🤗

Can I just keep coasting by on my chiseled features and finely honed physique instead?

100% agree with you!

Thanks for this video and those really good examples! I also skip them motivational whatever phrases and undefined teaching stuff if I hear something like that in a video.. Oops my time is valuable, I need to skip immediately :P

great video!

Peace!

Oh my gosh your comment just made me remember I didn't respond to you on Twitter! I think I read it at 5 am and then got ready for work and thought i'd respond later. LOL Heading over there now!

Anyway back to this! I'm so glad you enjoyed this video! It's super easy to fall into the trap of using over-generalized phrases because we are so used to seeing/hearing them...but they definitely get boring real fast!

So I have been gone for a while and now I see this DTC which seems to me that DTube has disconnected from Steem, I remember Coruscate having well over a thousand subscribers and now she has 46 WTF. I feel like I am in Bizzaro world.

Everyone left me... haha jk. Yeah Dtube has built their own chain, but are still utilizing Steem in some ways and users can cross post on both networks. This did cause everyone's follower count to go back to zero though... but on Steem, people's followers are still there.

Congratulations @coruscate! You received a personal award!
