RE: My Video Game Addiction Story

in #dtube7 years ago

Speaking of video game addiction...I've recently heard and read that there's a trend among kids today who watch other kids play video games online. Watching other kids open presents online is also a thing now. Kids spend hours and hours online watching this kind of stuff.

My step kid has stopped playing video games so he can watch other kids play minecraft. Which I have a hard time understanding because I can't imagine how this is fun for him. It's kind of disturbing to me in the sense that he doesn't even want to try to play the games so he just watches others. It would be a little bit better if he was actually playing and interacting in some way.

What bothers me the most about it is he isn't learning anything and doesn't seem to want to learn or be good at anything. So he's content to watch others. But he's just a kid so there's still time.

Lol, this trend has been around for a while now. The thing is that old fashioned Tv viewing is dying and people like you and me are producing their own form of entertainment and putting it on the internet. Some of it is bad, some of it is brilliant and innovating. Watching other kids play for them is just the same as me binge watching episodes of Game of thrones.

Yeah you make a good point regarding binge watching. My parents can't comprehend why I do some of the things I do so I guess it's just a generational thing. I love Game of Thrones. I'm so sad it's over for the year. Back to reading the books for me!
