Really? I think he is more of a man who will fight until the end if an impeachment process would start. He will probably try to start protests among his voters and create chaos.
I think the simple answer is "no." In order for Trump to be impeached, that would mean that a Republican-controlled House passed articles of impeachment against him, and a Republican-controlled Senate adjudicated him guilty. If it got to that point, Trump's political capital would have to be already at zero.
To reach that point, Trump would have had to have done something so incredibly stupid that the folks in Congress feel that he is weighing down their chances for re-election. Examples of this include: Mueller's investigation reveals hard evidence that Trump entered into a criminal conspiracy with the Russian hackers and/or Wikileaks (or accepted something of value from foreign nationals to further his 2016 election, breaking campaign finance laws, and possible RICO and other laws); Mueller's investigation reveals that Trump broke US laws before the election by performing money-laundering services for Russian oligarchs before the election; Trump starts a nuclear war with North Korean that results in millions of deaths in Seoul; Trump starts a war with Iran that turns nuclear and results in millions of deaths in Tel Aviv; Trump's economic blunders cause the stock market to crash, just like it did under Hoover.
They are already violent. Whether or not Trump resigns or is impeached, it doesn't matter. His supporters feel like a cornered rat. None of the promises will be met. They are nostalgic about an America that will never be again. And they won't go down without a fight. I think this is bigger than Trump. It is about a large group of people who believe that 'their America' is being stolen from them.
They will start the impeachment process for sure and then Trump will resign. He's got a ton of excuses from Dementia, to Fake news, to left wing out to get him for doing such a good job. It will never be his fault.
Depends on what grounds he gets impeached.
If it's something that he ACTUALLY did wrong, that's one thing.
If it's something that is total BS expect violence.
If Hillary gets installed by some miracle, expect a total full out revolution and civil war.
Nice question, the Trump I know is arrogant, full of himself. Unfortunately he has little or no previous political experience. However, I trust Americans, if he voilates the constitution, he will be impeached. As for resigning, his ego will not let. I follow and upvote you.
There will be many problems people will have @davidpakman should that happen. Until there is full blown, legitimate proof that there is misconduct worthy of impeachment and indictment than this is a non issue and purely hypothetical, which is where many of the people who are rooting for it to happen want it to stay up until at least the 2018 midterm elections. If there is legitimate proof from so many people that have had their credibility either rightly or wrongly destroyed. Thanks again for the post, have a great 2018! https://steemit.com/politics/@cryptkeeper17/the-bloodless-american-fiscal-revolution-will-now-be-digitized-section-1
Although a hypothetical question, this is one many of us have on our minds. I agree with @Nicholas83, many of these people already have violent tendencies, and this is why some “liberals” I know in my inner circle have decided to purchase a gun (for defensive purposes to be clear, not offensive). There is plenty of evidence that Trump has no issue blowing dog whistles, therefore I am guessing that if/when Trump goes down he will clap his tiny hands in excitement when he watches his supporters become violent in his defense.
I am tired of watching the United States lower its standards for the Trumpsters, therefore I am piggy backing on the callers question by asking this hypothetical: Considering the Republicans, their agenda, what they have already accomplished, and indications that they may have no intentions of fixing the problem they created (Trump), how bad would it have to get before there is an uprising? What does history suggest when looking at other countries that have faced a potential constitutional crisis?
I think it highly probable that there will be some violent protests if Trump is impeached. The question of whether or not he will be impeached seems to hinge on the next few election cycles since it is clear that partisan politics matters more than identity politics. Roy Moore is a good example of that kind of discernment among Republicans.
As to whether or not Trump will be impeached hinges on whether or not Republicans can retain control of both houses beyond the midterms. Dems have had a few impressive wins in recent special elections, but it is not clear if that will translate into mid-term momentum. If Dems can assert a filibuster proof majority, impeachment may not be certain but at least highly probable.
Trump is a very tough man who is full of ego and pride. He would rather resign than have himself face the shame of an impeachment.
This is just an opinion, nothing more.
That is exactly why I think it is more likely he'd resign, although I'm not saying either is likely
