This is just the annual exam that all presidents undergo. You are right that Trump will issue a summary that is to his liking, but let's not make more of this than it is.
Res Ipsa Loquitur. The thing speaks for itself. Or in this case, Trump's actions speak for themselves. Dementia and mental competence aside . . . no matter the cause of his deficiencies, they exist nonetheless. He's way out of his depth. Let's hope he doesn't get us all killed.
He's in deep trouble now and everyone around him knows it! Unfortunately, the thought of a President Pence does not give me a warm, fuzzy feeling either....ugh.
Trump came to Washington unaware of the game he was playing. He obstructed justice while putting out false stories on Air Force One about Don Jr.'s meeting with the Russians. His whole life is about spinning and lying. You can't do that in Washington when prosecutors are involved.
President Pence would be worse, imho. Trump is basically an increasingly unhinged unknown quantity most of the time, and his party has to spend a LOT of time and energy containing him and doing damage control etc. On the other hand.... Pence knows exactly what he is doing. He is calculating and incredibly smart. Soooo it's hard to decide which is worse, but overall, the thought of Pence in charge chills me even worse than the daily tantrums we have to deal with from Trump right now.
Sir...your headline and intro sensationalizes the issue. I realize there's a part of the populace that would like to believe this is a result of mounting pressure related to claims of dementia. It's a great selling point. This appears to be a regularly scheduled medical exam done by most of the previous presidents, meaning it's standard protocol. Slippery slope that will have implications for future presidents regardless of party affiliation.
I don't know. If he shares the report, to give it any legitimacy he's going to need to include the signature of the Doctor, and if he omits vital information, I'm 90% sure that the doctor has the right to say 'take my signature off that and stop advertising unless you show my actual fucking verdict'
Also if he's nuts, would he really be stupid enough to not realise he's gotta do something? I know he's vulnerable to suggestions, but still. Also he's so damned dim that a clever interviewer could trick him into saying he's melting on live tv...
he's in deep trouble now and all and sundry round him knows it! regrettably, the notion of a President Pence does no longer provide me a warm, fuzzy feeling either....ugh.he is in deep problem now and everyone around him knows it! unfortunately, the concept of a President Pence does no longer deliver me a warm, fuzzy feeling either....ugh.

it just won't tell us anything one way or the other about his cognitive abilities

I respectfully disagree with you
I don't buy that he is suffering from dementia. I just think he is always what he has been. A first-rate carnival barker.
I think most public displays put on by government officials tend to be more show than substance.
speaking of bogus..
I think its long overdue
