As I announced I'd be doing yesterday, today I interviewed Bitcoin Cash's Roger Ver from St Kitts, where he now lives. All topics were on the table, including Roger's libertarian politics, Bitcoin vs Bitcoin cash, his anger with another interviewer who recently referred to Bitcoin Cash as "bcash," the listing of Bitcoin Cash on Coinbase, the future prices of Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash vs. Litecoin, and much much more.

I also like the video. I very much like the first question given, which was basically "what problem would be solved with crypto?" The simple answer from Roger Ver was "control over YOUR OWN money." I have just begin my journey through the crypto currency world and it really is simple to send and receive money. Yes, there are some other things related to crypto currency that are confusing (i.e. wallet, trading platform, mining, businesses that support bitcoin purchases), but after all that, it really is simple.
Just like any new thing in the world, there is a learning curve, acceptance maybe, and even a foundation. I think the world is way past the basic foundation, and are not beginning to learn and accept bitcoin and other altcoins, as I am. As BTC becomes more common, especially in businesses, better ways of receiving and spending BTC will be available, and will soon become just a part of who we are as human beings. Look what Facebook did to us. Some may say that there came some "Bad" with the rise f social media platforms, but there has also been many "Good." Good luck to you all on your endeavors to learn and use crypto currency. Happy Holidays!

You’re not alone. I’d say you are on par with the majority, and possibly ahead since you already have a btc wallet. The market is highly speculative and the general public is buying and holding whatever small fractions they can get. The ones in the know have held on to their btc for over a year and are now taking profits. Do your research and find an e-coin with low to no transaction fees and one which is highly scalable - iota comes to mind; but do your research since there are many alternatives available out there. Bitcoin core just needs to get Lightning network going a little faster
Sadly I don't think the lightning network is the answer.
There are some misconceptions being spread in this video about having to open payment channels for every new account. Many accounts can be preloaded with only a single blockchain input. The video also included parroted "blorgstream" propoganda. To those watching, please don't take this video as your single source of info on the lightning network. Just because Bitcoin can't guarantee anymore that a transaction is going through. Of corse every single one can avoid the problem with a super high fer. But all in total can't.
On the other hand: Of course. If it will be Bitcoin Cash or something else, who knows. And which role DAG will play.

Not entirely agreeing with the sentiment, but this would make a good episode @davidpakman. This ecosystem is not as simple as being only a site with a simple "fair" voting system of one vote per person in the sense most people are used to. In its first layer, it is not built as a democracy, although it can use other technologies and tokens on top of the first layer.

The interview is worth a watch. I agree with Roger on the Bitcoin debate, Bitcoin needs to be useful as cash for every day payments or its useless.
There are "solutions" being brought forward like Lightnin and Liquid , but the jury is still out on those.
Appreciate the honest take on Steem.
The long term viability of Steem is a concern we all have. Only time will tell. Much depends on the community's ability to self govern and neutralize the many exploits (many of which carried out by bots).

Good interview, it actually made me feel better about the intent of bitcoin cash, the one reservation and question that i wish was asked is a recounting of the difficulty of getting the bitcoin core community to get them to get the improvements in bitcoin core. Ver mentions that they weren't interested in faster confirmations, larger blocks, but that isn't a good enough, frankly, don't believe it. Devil is in details, there must have been something that the majority of the core community did not agree with, and now we have this fork which doesn't help anybody.
The devil in this case was censorship, manipulation and other issues on the Core/Segwit side. You should watch the recent debates/interviews with Jimmy Song and on Tom Woods youtube channel on the issue. Many of the good people are either not at all in this debate or have been lead astray by the recent developers and newcomers to Bitcoin who have an entirely new philsophy and agenda.

You're smart to notice this. He even smiled that he reduced his sentence to just couple of months. Why entrust our blockchain future to someone who have no clean record? Why don't we bet it on someone better? Crypto is still on early stage, it's vulnerable to all kind of manipulation and propaganda. But I know one thing why blockchain is built for. Financial freedom, decentralization, free from control of any party!

Sometimes that's good, especially as far as David is not too offensive. (and also if he handn't asked them he basically could have expected death threats from anti-bitcoincashers and a big social media backlash)
Roger is a great guy, good personality and always polite. He shouldn't have got himself in some interview with that low ranked person to try to push his buttons. It was quite clearly the trap. And these social media ruin people's reputation or make further incorrect viewpoints.

I am not trying to insult but rather hopefully be constructive but you need to brush up on your interviewing skills. It seems that you are trying to debate more than interview.
For example instead of saying "In terms of a counter example", you might try it in a form of a question "But what do you think of this counter example". Because then it is more like you are delegating questions your audience might ask.
Also your counter example is kind of misleading because a country doesn't exist forever with what ever policies it has at this moment. Just as you might for example save a bunch of money early in your career and then when you get older go into a spending spree on the money you saved, you can't then say that your better off during the spending spree than when you were saving just because you are getting more stuff. A lot of these Scandinavian countries might have a high standard of living now, but socialism didn't create that high standard of living, socialism didn't create the capital that they are enjoying now.
Austrian Economists like to point out a lot of other examples where governments take the credit for improved standards. For example child labor had already declined before laws banned it. Car pollution had already declined before they created laws that required cars to have lower emissions.
You can even find logical reasons behind this. Imagine if politicians mandated higher standards in car emissions. Suddenly people would be unable to drive their cars (being below the standard), businesses would be unable to sale their stock of cars. Everyone would revolt against a government that did this, they would impeach people in office over this. Instead what happens is, car manufactures produce cars with better lower emissions and patent technology, and then they lobby the government to increase standards which would force their competitors to license their patents. And then politicians take credit for the improved standards.
This is how I interview, I've been doing it this way for 10 years. You aren't "wrong" or "right" in your suggestions, but I do not pretend to be nor try to be an "unbiased interviewer," I get into the topics, I host an OPINION show, and this is how my interviews are by design.
