Yes, but most people don't know what it is. But, it's the seven days I think will be the biggest problem. I dont' want to spend days on making high quality vidoes, and then it's only monetized for seven days. I have videos on YouTube that are two years old that still make some money, but I will definitely try Dtube. For users with few views on YouTube it should be a no-brainer, but I don't think the "big guys" will rush to Dtube.

There's a way around that. Once per six dsys,DTube posts an invisible monetisatisation proxy comment on the video using the video poster's key. The DTube UI redirects an upvote to the monetisation comment instead.

Do your videos make more money in the long term than some of the trending videos here on steemit @dieterschneider? That's an important question. Because a trending vid on steemit is easily able to make $200 while I believe it's hard to earn that on YouTube...
I have videos that have earned $1600 and still earn money. I also use some videos to sell pdf plans, which also generate a good revenue. In total I have earned over 2000 on my best video, and I only got 21 000 subs. In addition I earn some money on amazon affiliate program as well. There are many ways to monetize videos on Youtube that generate long term income. Big YouTubers earn way more than 200 on each video. Yes, it's hard, but it's also hard to make money on Steemit/Dtube.

I mean, I'm on steemit since 1 year and am rewarded with an average of $50-70 per video. I've started at the same point of time on YouTube and don't receive anything :-)

I joined way back in 2007 (I think), but did not post much until a couple of years ago, and it was only a year ago (when a video went semi-viral) I started to post more frequently (at least tried). My average videos don't make much, but I don't lay too much work in them. The thing with youtube is that the real money is in getting sponsors outside youtube, or monetize in other ways (like selling your own stuff, affiliate, patreon etc.). I think Dtube can be perfect for daily vloggers and "short life" videos, I just hope there will be a way for long term monetizing as well. I will definitely try Dtube, and I think it is the beginning of a change. I guess it's too early to tell. If you get 50-70 per video, I would definitely continue with that. whatever that works... :)
