In Japan not in a major city I’d say about $700. In Tokyo around $1,100 and this would be minimalist living . Taxes ( city tax, healthy insurance, and if pension applies ) alone will take out 25%!

Thanks for the insight. I expected Japan to be more expensive. I guess it’s just like the UK. London is expensive but you can save more money living in the countryside.

it can be but in regards to bare minimum and seeking out the best deals you could survive in Tokyo on $1,100. Yeah I heard London is pretty expensive, my friend from London lived here for a year and was surprised how much cheaper it was than London
