It is quite alright to have a love/hate relationship with FaceBook, or any other platform. They all are just tools for us to use as they best fit our needs. Some offer benefits in one area and not others, and vice versa. It is always good to have options. LOL!
Non-free software, especially facebook, can be used by its owners as a tool to control people. This is a serious and very real social issue of our time. Being "only a tool for the users" is merely what facebook pretends to be. Actually, most of what facebook does is going on behind the scenes, like shadow profiling, for example.

I am in the same as you friend, I was addicted to facebook, but since I met steemit I have taken the body, is as you say, here in steemit is more profitable and not anyone can or know how to do this more or less do we, you maybe better than me because I only have a few days, but the challenge is that: learn everything about this community. regards

Man. I'm right there with you doc. We also have close to 40k followers on both of our sites and around 10k in our photography group, but I rarely log on nowadays. Just getting tired of what it's become.

The problem is linking to anything external, if you just make posts without links or use FB video, they will push it and your audience get's to see the content, but linking to anything that is not FB is just a big no-no in their eyes because they really want people to stay on FB for as long as possible

I have facebook account for many years but I have never posted anything on it I rarely use it and just for reading news or to search some other information.
I have never been too comfortable with Facebook,not sure I would go as far as saying I 'hate' it, as some have, but as you say, it is what it is, but when there is a place like steemit, there seems little comparison.
