The beginning of this video is more of a fast explanation of the Steem blockchain for everyone that is new to STEEM in 2018.
There is so much more to learn but I hope this video will kickstart your experience.
I talk about earning crypto on the Steem blockchain through creating content, creating app/frontends and how you can monetize them, earn crypto through becoming a witness and even monetizing your own skills (like logo design) for STEEM.
I also quickly touch on the main aspect of the Steem blockchain that makes it function so well.

- scalability (currently the top blockchain with 1.3 million transactions per day with 0.11% load) source.

Steem is indeed one of the best blockchains around at the moment.
The three second block time is really a fantastic feature.
People have misconception that blockchain means at least 15 mins, but they are wrong, come and experience steem blockchain and see how fast it is.
This is just the beginning, must more exciting times to come in 2018 for this blockchain

2018 is going to be very very special for steem, higher price of steem means the number of steem tokens will be less and the inflation will also be less which is again a great news for all hodlers of steem and we can see further price appreciation in steem.

Steem starts with $3, hope steem don't look back and keep on improving the quality of steemit.
If I get this right. In a way steem is like ETHER.
ETHER has ERC-20 token
STEEM has SMT
ETHER uses gas for transaction.
STEEM uses bandwidth, or SP.
Hope this analogy is right.
@exyle I got a chance this morning to explain to my Girlfriend how renting Steem Power works. Now She is all excited about getting involved since she understands Real Estate and how growing her income streams can benefit her. I love her a lot and she is starting to get it. 2018 the light bulb is coming..........

About that blockactivity stats, recently it had about 1M transaction a day with 0,36% load. This means the capicity is growing. My question about this is the following: is the max tx/day as fast as the slowest witnessnode (aka weakest link) to register all the data?

yeah the start of steem in new year is also good and nice to be talk on all matter of steem and also i feel i m like that new users still as compare to you...and the steem transatcion is really fast and we transact quickly and no fees is also good also the steemit is a great platfarm if we will choose it for our bright future..also talk on steem apps i ask u about steemify when it will appear on android version bcz i m still using android not ios...

Happy new year @exyle this is an informative post. 1,3 million transactions/day in blockchain is a very large number. And in this year that number will rise manyfold.
Steem to me has been a bridge to the cryptocurrency world.
I learnt a lot about crypto trading after I got into this.
It's been a great platform.

blocktrades.us will accept different crypto and convert it to STEEM for you. It's pretty straightforward. You can also use exchanges.

With the increase in price of STEEM, I was expecting the liquidity to go up because more people would want to power down and cash in on some profits, but it seems that I'm wrong. Steemians believe that the price can go higher in the coming months.
when i start my steemit i think the daily transation need me for cash but still i have not any steem cashout bcz i believe in steemit 1000% and i want to hold all of my steem and i will buy power soon to increase my work more and earen more...

Yes because Bitcoin fees are high. Use another currency and it's fine.
Glad to see things picking up nicely for Steem in 2018 already! I hope to see continued success and want to do more to help others along the way. What are some ideas you think would be vital for red fish to help out? Managed to get video via IPFS today must be our internet connection again, nice insight in planning going forward with both the platform and cryptocurrencies.
STEEM seems to be doing great. A decrease in liquid crypto, however, is good or bad for price projection? Does it mean that more Steemians are cashing out or powering up?
It means more people buy/earn steem and powerup.

steem is going to be the no 1 choice with so many reasons the system works flawlessly and the witnesses doing their work 24/7 and developers taking regular feedbacks this is the best blockchain ever :)

I am very excited for the SMT protocol to be introduced. That said, I find it interesting that you did not mention communities as one of the exciting additions to come in this year.
Is that because you heard about it for months and months and until it is here, it isnt? Or is it that you just do not feel it is going to have much of an impact?

Question. Why are you still working? When the millions come in, one will usually do only what he or she wants. If your millions have not yet arrived, be assured that the second one comes easier than the first.
I am happy about how things are going too. Both bitshares and steem are difficult to sign up to - people need someone at their side to explain the importance of the owner key, and the other two.
I know so many who have lost their Steem playing with changing owner keys or losing them. You are on my list for a vote as a witness :)
I guess the rise of crypto has been faster than my ability to adjust to it :). 2017 was a bit nuts. I feel confident now to let the contracts go and free up time. I still keep the rest of the business for now untill I feel 100% ok with letting it go. It's 10 years of my life. Thank you for considering us for your vote.
I left an executive role about five or six years ago. It's still there and I can pick it up anytime, but I don't really want to any longer. I remember when you arrived here. You drew attention immediately. I would assume you have had more success than I have.
The reboot is tough! I did it one time moving from the States, and another time when I left my job. Crawling into the sponge-bob hole came out of seeing where my friends had gone; Mayer, Vorhees, and Shrem had the man all up in their aprons and I didn't want that.
I think that Esteem improvement will be great for this social network to grow :)
And we also need more ways to inject fiat in the blockchain!!!
