Whoa! I had no idea you had one of these birds. I'm told that they require a LOT of attention or they pull all their chest feathers out. As a child I have always wanted a talking bird, but now that I have been told about how much attention they need, I'm not so sure any more.
When my daughter was still living at home, she managed to befriend a wild squirrel and it would come to our screen door and hang upside down until we fed her. I have pictures of the squirrel resting on our kitchen counter and even of my daughter petting it. My neighbour told me that she had babies and after that I never saw her again.
I've been trying to befriend a family of crows for a couple of years now, but they are far to cautious to become friends.
