I ran across this National Geographic article that provides confirmation of your observations of the terrible growing season this year.

"Rabalais says she's not surprised that this year's dead zone will be particularly large. Much of the Midwest saw unprecedented rainfall this spring, leading to a large increase in the amount of runoff washing into the sea. Many farmers were so affected by the intense rains that they were unable to plant crops like corn and soybean, meaning all the nitrogen and phosphorus-rich fertilizer they had spread washed into the Mississippi. Scientists are predicting that a warming climate could lead to more extreme rainfall in the region and ultimately make it more difficult to control fertilizer runoff."

The bizarre claim that cooler wetter conditions are an effect of global warming further shows how National Geographic is participating in the general AGW hoax being perpetrated by the enemedia that further exacerbates the harm the Grand Solar Minimum is going to do society.

This also reveals how the toppling of dominoes concatenate to increase the impact of food insecurity across markets. The rains this spring didn't just impact corn and soybean crops. Turns out they also are gonna hurt shrimp and other seafood harvests.
