One of the most incredible things I’m realizing about Steemit is that, whether intended or not, its decentralization combined with its acceptance of the concept of free markets (actually free, not crony-capitalist statist tripe) for beneficial, peaceful, and non-coercive interactions between people, makes Steemit an almost perfect platform for keeping together a community of libertarians, anarcho-capitalists, minarchists, objectivists, some free market mutualist-anarchist types, and everyone from the Liberty movement.
The people who fit the ideological persuasions listed above tend to be extremely concerned with the importance and dignity of every, single person as their own ends as opposed to all other ideologies which seem to accept, to one degree or another, the “sacrifice” of some individuals for the benefit of some other group.
That can sometimes make it hard to keep the liberty-minded types of people together as a community because of the heavy value they put on an individuals’ freedom to choose how, when, and with whom to associate.
Steemit, uniquely, I believe, allows for the forming of communities that are more fluid than elsewhere, while still maintaining the underlying sense of community that is an important part of building out and spreading the message of freedom to the larger population, and providing a place for people who love freedom to group together, voluntarily, and feel freely exchange ideas and share of themselves without fear of punishment by some iteration of the State.
Posts and links to podcasts like this are, I think, exactly what the “movement” (such as it is) needs!
thank you so much for the kind words! My goal is to create a platform and share a perspective of building freedom. Glad you like it :)
