They believe that women are more emotional and empathetic, which is to say more easily swayed by fear-inducing propaganda. It's "toxic masculinity" when people resist the attempted brainwashing and use actual facts and data to make a decision, rather than "PEOPLE ARE DYING!!!!" lines.
