Hello Steemit!
We are all excited to hear about a steemit video platform and we're all waiting for the perfect one. So, here's a few observations on http://dTube.video so far.
How Does it Work?
Log into dTube with your steemit login name and private key (no steemit password). Your avatar appears and you are ready to go. Click on the upload video icon. 
When you upload a video, you capture a snap image (thumbnail) from the video for your cover and come up with a description and tags. It's a little clunky that you must take your snap image, download the snap, then re-upload it from your files. It seems like they could streamline that process. You can upload any image you want for your thumbnail.
Next you write your title, description and tags. Click Submit and a new steemit post is created!
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- It's YouTube-like platform that people will be mostly familiar with.
- Can create your own dTube channel
- Fairly easy to use and upload
- Vote percentage is built in for all users.
- Thumbs-up under each video for upvoting.
- Rewards displayed with $0.000 decimal places.
- Can hide all NSFW videos
Cons:
- Lacks features like subscriptions.
- Thumbs-down (down-vote) is a little too conspicuous.
- dTube adds "dtube-" in front of all your tags (you can edit this in steemit).
- Biggest gripe: does not embed the video in steemit, but links to dTube to view. Annoying.

So as I'm taking screen-shots showing how simple and easy it is to upload videos to dTube this shows up:
So this is a downer, to be sure. Hopefully quirks like these will be resolved and we will have a reliable youtube alternative.

Conclusion
Even with it's flaws and bugginess, I still like what I see. A youtube alternative that uses steemit to generate STEEM simply by "thumbs-ups". The future looks bright!

I think I read that if the video has been just posted wait ten minutes or so before watching and it wont buffer or stall/stop it will play through.
