How many people on the Steem platform are out exclusively for profit?
Yes there IS something written that says you can't do this:
From the terms of service:
17.1.3. Use any robot, spider, crawler, scraper or other automated means or interface not provided by us to access our Services or to extract data;
You are using (hiring) a robot to access the Service provided by the Steem blockchain.
You don't want to be downvoted, then dont violate the terms of service. Also: begging for upvotes - not good form.
I actually support @grumpycat and hope other whales take the lead in combating robots - steem is supposed to be a 'proof - of - brain ' concept, and robots are making the playing field crooked, especially for people from countries that could never afford this type of promotion.
I think the use of voting bots undermines the credibility of the ratings.

I wouldn't call that grateful...lol. But I'd be pissed if I were you. Grumpycat has some serious issues...taking them out on unsuspecting SteemIt users. Keep up the good work Joe.

Bull! DTube is voting on people that turn the camera on themselves with some major payouts, discouraging people that do not put themselves in the picture but take the time to create video that benefits others and doing so free of charge. You are not getting my vote.

I like what Grumpy Cat is doing with the self voting. My only issue with what the person is doing is that some people use the bots not to self vote but to boost a new users post that is undervalued. Sometimes you don't see the post till it is 4 or 5 days or even 6 days old. I think if Grumpy is going to do this it should be only to those who are using the bots for self voting. When it is gifted it should be left alone.
Here is my scenerio. I have been using the bots. When the surge happened a week and half ago I bumped up my bot donations hoping for more followers and profits. I was putting bots on my new posts as I always did. Well, it didn't happen that way. Steem steadily came down and so did my profits....actually I lost on my last 6 pay outs. I wasted my money on the bots. So now what. I was thinking of just botting my older posts and you came out with this information...which I greatly appreciate. I still think bots are going to be the downfall of Steemit.
