oh you speak Bahasa Indonesian?

Ya saya cakap sikit sikit dan saya punya isteri malaysian tamil.. ( a little, and my wife speaks a few dialects of Indian, Malay, bit of mandarin, and of course English)

My tamil is terrible and my hokkien, mandarin is worse... I am learning tho.. Indo and Malay are pretty easy to learn the basics.. If I could speak all the above on a 3-4 year old level I'd be happy..

Enjoy that makanan, I will watch the video a bit later...

Cheers

That's so cool. I've heard indo and malay is easy to learn, I've been saying I need to learn another Asian language, but never any progress lol

I'd totally recommend bahasa indo/malay not only because it's relatively easy but there are 230+ million Indonesians and 30 million Malaysians. So over a quarter billion people spanning a large bit of land and their ability to speak English helps tremendously. This fact, and for me not needing to learn characters or calligraphy as they use the English alphabet with only slight differences in vowel sounds has made it fun..

Also as someone that loves etymology they have many borrowed words from various languages, tamil, arabic, french, English, and mandarin so it's really cool to see the big picture and history of their melting pot...

My wife and I run a preschool so I've been able to use the kids readers for the basics.. If it were a full immersion I'm sure I'd be fluent, even eloquent, but since most everyone where I'm at speaks English very well I've been able to rely on that which has helped me get the slang and nuances but also kept from being forced into thinking in malay..

I'd hope our steem international community could get some language centered communities going eventually.. So much potential here, and my favourite aspect of steem is definitely the universal vibe.. Have a great time at the festival Joy...

Maybe we can have a nice chat if we get to bkk for sf4.. You have quite an interesting blog and I'm sure plenty of stories...

Preschool, sounds like an interesting business. I'm very interested in languages and have learned many languages, but I think I don't have the patience to improve all my languages, so all of them stay pretty much broken. I do watch some French movies and vlogs every day.

Oh? you are going to sf4, decided? You should, what a chance!

i want to upload video : how to learn indonesian languange, what is your opinion?
