It always amazes me the level docility & apathy on the faces of most of the humans going through the Disneyland-like lines for airport "security checkpoints." Mindlessly shuffling forward, emptying their pockets, showing their papers, taking off their shoes, and ultimately walking into a radiation box.
I, personally, always "opt out" when I go through that process, and have been flying less and less to simply avoid these Nazi control zones. When I am there, I like to make little comments, just loud enough for the folks in line to hear them, about the TSA's 0% success rate, about the similarities between the "PATRIOT ACT" and the Emergency War Powers Act in (what became) Nazi Germany, etc.
This time through, it was a pretty hilarious experience. I put my gear on the little conveyor belt, sent it through, and sat there waiting for a few minutes for someone to come pat me down. When he finally walked over and asked if I was the "opt out", we went around the machine, and he asked me to point to my gear. Off to our left, another TSA agent was holding up my backpack, asking if it was mine. While the two of us stood by and watched, the agent from the scanner opened my backpack and looked through it, finally pulling out a box of Magic: The Gathering cards, which had apparently set off their alarms. He took a quick look at the box, put it back in, and gave back my pack.
That all seems pretty routine right? Well, the funny part came a little while later, while on the plane, when I went to pull out my headphones, and there in the same pocket (right next to where they had looked) was my old Boy Scout pocket knife. Good thing TSA is there to stop another 9/11, which was supposedly committed with box cutters. (with a blade 1/4 the length of the one I had)

Dodging bullets in the matrix,....
The only reason planes aren't blowing up all over the place is not because of the Toilet Saftey Administration. As you say, they have a 0% success rate.
The reason is that anyone smart enough to do that, is also smart enough to know its a bad deal, and a poor outcome... even if you are trying to promote terror.
I mean, how can you compete with the level of terror the Toilet Safety Administration pulls every day?
And for what to blow up an airplane with 200 people when you don't need to invest in a ticket and get thousands of people in a line of the fucking security checkpoint. Love this youtube clip. Bad thing is that the government and its servants are not only dumb but also evil.
They empty their pockets, take their shoes off, etc, without being told to do it! They do it automatically! It always blows my mind to watch it, every single time.
Nice post, Kenny.
Lol! They are completely incompetent. Also nice on the MTG! I started playing again recently. Got a black vampire deck going hehe. @truthforce writing
It's all for show to get people accustomed to complying with unreasonable demands. They've ruined travel for me and I do far less of it now. I absolutely hate having to take off my boots and feel like a criminal just to get on a plane. I certainly don't feel like it is for my protection because as you demonstrated it is not a system that actually works.
Last big trip I took was about five years ago, I was at the Frankfurt airport and it came on the news that a child in the UK had managed to catch a flight, making it through every single checkpoint without being detected. He had no boarding pass and was alone. He only got caught because he told someone on the plane while it was in the air.
Watching them scramble to give the impression of "increased security" in response to this was amusing. We all had to line up and have our passports scanned while they questioned us and then we lined up and went through the regular process - it was a completely absurd reaction to the given situation and yet, we all lined up and complied.
Thought you was ecofriendly... What's up with flying and the huge carbon footprint?
Don't you care about the planet?
