The Pink Beach (Pantai Merah), located in the Komodo National Park, is one of the seven pink beaches on the planet. As you can see from the videos and the picture, it's a beautiful beach.
Science trivia: Microscopic animals on the coral reefs called Foraminifera produce a red pigment. When the tiny fragments of the red coral dislodge, and eventually reach the shore, they mix with the white grains of sand of the shoreline, producing the soft pink colour that is visible along the shoreline.
The corals of the Pink Beach’s underwater gardens are another excellent reason to visit this beach. They provide refuge to thousands of species of fish, which makes Pink Beach a terrific choice for snorkelers and beginner divers.
One should never forget of course, that this is the natural habitat of the Komodo dragon. Komodo Dragons are excellent swimmers, and could be potentially dangerous to people, so it is not recommended to visit this beach without the help of an experienced guide or ranger (1).
I left the camera on the boat and swam to the shore, so this is a video of the beach I took from the boat;
I also found another interesting video of the beach on YouTube:
I hope you like them.

did u swim there? u liked it?
Awesome! Yeah we did swim there and could not take my camera. It's really pink, well because of the crushed red corals. It's sooo pretty :)
did you see the dragons? I was in Indonesia this summer, but I couldn't make it that far....
yes, i did. not on the beach though :D
Good! For both not seeing it on the beach and seeing it :D
Nice pics and what a lovely place to go.
I have this on my agenda for this summer. Do you have any advice for a family of 4?
hi @detlev. u want to go to Komodo national park. i suggest you stay at Kanawa for a couple of days, then pay a visit to Komodo national park, stay the night on the boat, and then pink beach like i did.
it's been years since i visited, the places have changed.
look up kanawa, and see if you can book a place there
the only problem with Kanawa was mosquitoes; be warned
i hope this helps
google komodo tour, the options depend on the size of your wallet really
you could even have a private boat take u there :D
It is very nice video of you, keep up the good work!
thank you cagenila!
