You forgot to mention my favorite app busy.org. I use it 99% of the time to access the STEEM blockchain. Without it, I would have never stayed on here...
What are the the benefits of busy.org over Steemit? I like the looks of Steemit better, but if busy.org has more to offer, I might have to give it a go.
Well, besides that I like the UI and UX of busy better in every category (much more modern), the main selling points for me are the "News Feed", sorting through tags, contextual information on every post, formatting of posts and comments, people to follow recommendations, replies tab that gives a much better overview - ok, so for me everything works better in a way 😀Of course all this is a matter of taste and how intense you are using the features given.
A good start! It's best to start with the basics.
Once you're ready to meet the masses, you may find that some folks need definitions for terms that we live an breathe (even the non-techies!) but normies are unfamiliar with. To see what I mean, try watching CNBC for a spell and tabulate all the terms that the CNBC regular would know but are unfamiliar to Joe Average.
But that's for the future. :)
BTW: in your description for DTube, you have this sentence: "It is a censorship and advertisement free platform, and all it does not use sorting algorithms like YouTube does."
I scratched my head about the "all".
Resteemed.
Thank you @nxtblg! That's an excellent idea, I'll definitely do that - thank you!
And I just noticed that, it was just a typo don't worry haha apologies!
Thanks for all of the support :)
This post has received a 6.09 % upvote from @booster thanks to: @lukebrn.
thank you for the information .. maybe i was late in the information because i have not known all its as it has been posted by @lukebrn
This post was really helpful. I'd not yet heard of Zappl or SteepShot, going to check them out. Thank you!
Sneaky Ninja Attack! You have been defended with a 18.36% vote... I was summoned by @lukebrn! I have done their bidding and now I will vanish...Whoosh
This is very helpful, thank you! I am new...and just getting the hang of Steemit, and now it looks like there are many more things I am going to have to check out and learn! It's never ending!
Cool thanks for posting! I didn't know about a few of these - excited to hear about Steepshot especially. Always glad to know the Steem blockchain is continuing to grow.
Thanks for the comment! It should be great, there are some really cool ones happening at the moment.
From what I understand, DSound is kind of like SoundCloud, but wouldn't there be great to have a Steem-based streaming service like Spotify as well? It could be based on the content on DSound, but be less community-focused. Rewards similar to an upvote could be given to artists whenever someone added their song to a playlist.
Interesting! You could quite easilly get a few developers on board if you had a good business model.
Thanks, I will add it to my list of future plans and maybe write a post on it.
Are there any central places that would show new
steemit applications being developed so that we can help get the projects off the ground financially or promotion to our friends?
Actually it appears there is www.steemprojects.com that lists active steem based projects.
Great overview of some of the fantastic apps built on Steemit. I would also include utopian.io as showcase. It is an app that links Github and Steemit and is in some ways the best existing example of the next gen apps that will be built on Steemit. In my opinion this is because it links different existing services and technologies such as Github and Discord as well as standard webservices but the USP is that it's also linked to the Steem blockchain.
The future of apps on Steemit will in my opinion be the ones that provide a wonderful UX but somehow make a link to the Blockchain. What interfaces like Steemit will need to do is figure out a way to only show relevant content. At the moment the Steemit website (and others) don't seem to filter content that intelligently and it's likely other apps and interfaces such as busy.org will be the main windows onto the Steemit Blockchain in the future. Maybe it will be possible so you wont see Zaps on busy for example.
I think we will see windows opening up that only show particular content.
This site only shows news feeds for example.
Great post! I do believe when SMT's are released all these dapps will issue their own tokens and won't all have to share the Steem reward pool. I'm pretty sure they share it at the moment.
Thank you! That may be much harder than it sounds.. We'll have to see how it goes but I imagine it will be difficult!
