In Marrakech, the Place Jemaa-El-Fna owes some of its fame to the traditional snake charmers. The imposture of their talent would be only magic if it did not induce the mistreatment of cobras, vipers bumping, snakes of Montpellier and others, for the purpose of the perpetration of a doubtful medieval spectacle. Most of these beautiful species are either threatened with extinction in North Africa or are in alarming decline. This contributes to the appalling general depletion of Morocco's ecosystems.
