A friend recently let me borrow a very old rifle and wanted to know what it was and if it was safe to shoot. So we took it home and looked it over. After learning more about it and giving it a close inspection, I deemed it safe to shoot and we took it out on the range.
The rife is a 100 year old Enfield Model 1917. Most of these rifles were used against the Germans in World War I by allied forces in France. But this one was a bit different and never made it to Europe. It's manufacture date was the same month the peace treaty (armistice) was signed.
