Watch as we go off road with a Segway. My first time on this type of machine was a lot of fun.
Also this upload has been a bit of an experiment. Let me explain.
I watched a great interview between @terrybrock and Dtube developer @heimindanger (Adrian) about the new version 0.5 of Dtube and the new functionality it has incorporated.
It was interesting to hear that Dtube can now handle videos up to 20 minutes in length, and that many of the technical issues have been resolved for easier upload and playback?
It’s also OK to upload your video footage that you may have uploaded to YouTube or Facebook rather than just sharing a link to those websites.
In this way you can see which platform is performing best in terms of reward for your video making.
This is an A B test. The YouTube video is A and the Dtube video is B.
So, with that in mind I decided to upload this video. 4 hours and countless failures later. I did a little digging around and found that whatever format your video is in, when you upload it. Dtube trans-codes it to 480p!
So I put the video through Windows Movie Maker and saved the video into 480p format, this is usually for large format phones etc.
I uploaded it to Dtube and it worked first time and uploaded very fast. The previous upload attempts at 1020p took over an hour and never worked or completed as opposed to about 5 minutes at 480p
If you are having issues uploading to Dtube try this 480p route.
I also had some issues with the thumbnail not showing on the post and had to replace the image via steemit. It all seems to be working fine now. So now back to the experiment now that I have got the video up on Dtube.
This same video has been on YouTube since the 6th October 2017.
It will be interesting to see the results of this test. I will disclose how much this video made on YouTube for a comparison to Dtube after 7 days have elapsed.
I do hope you enjoy seeing me riding a Segway off-road through some muddy puddles. It was pretty exciting and now you may be wondering if I fell off? Well you’ll have to watch the video to find out.

Very cool... Looks pretty stable.
It was incredible stable and much to my surprise I was flying around in no time at all. Few bumps along the way.
The video came out very well, keep up the good work./
Thanks Mike, I'll be uploading more often now.
Glad you worked out the video problem.
It was a bit of a mission but so happy I figured it out. I'll be uploading to Dtube more now.
