DMCA take downs. My work got copied from YT and uploaded to someone else's FB page. The problem is indeed stolen views because while you can get the stolen material taken down from an offending channel, they don't give you the views that your material generated. Views and watch time is what is used to evaluate your channel. Get it? They don't give a hoot about content creators; they only care about corporate Hollywood. If they did care about content creators, why does your work generate huge numbers on someone else's channel, while on your own channel it just sits there doing nothing? Why can 15 seconds of sound track generate 23 copyright claims while we have to find our own 12 minutes of stolen work? We're being manipulated; that's why.
I found out the same way; an e-mail from a friend that started with: Hey did you know that your Sheiks video can be seen at .......
It's a mess over there... but I found out about DTube from a comment someone left me on YouTube, so i'm grateful for that, and I'm very happy to be here!
