Great vlog brother. You bring up a point that I've pondered on quite a bit. How long will it take to get enough long term holders of Steem in Steem Power to make a meaningful move higher in price and then sustain it? The price increase was great today, but as soon as saw the volume over 4 million USD, I saw it as a traders rally. There's not enough strong hands that are willing to hold long term in Steem presently, but as time goes by I think that will change.
One thing that I think has hurt Steemit is that there are so many videos and articles pumping how much you can make from blogging and then showing the trending page showing posts making hundreds or thousands of dollars. I know these folks love Steemit and are pumped to spread the word, but I think that's the wrong way to promote Steemit and just sets newcomers up for failure and disappointment by promoting a "get rich quick" mindset . I've read on countless forums and videos comments from people bashing Steemit b/c they say it's impossible to make money and is a scam. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Steem block chain can be used in various ways as a personal financial product along with being a blogging website. I think Dtube will help further this cause of getting people out of the mind set that Steemit is just for bloggers and is ran by a few whales that keep all the profit for themselves. I remember when I first joined and was doing my due diligence, I was coming across all these negative posts or forums and such, and I was thinking to myself, what the hell have I gotten into, but this was my first introduction to crypto and I was determined to learn all I could. Now 3 months later I truly realize that Steemit is simply massively misunderstood. It has so many social uses, but even more monetary uses that nobody seems to talk about. I believe the people who stay for the long term will be able to better shape the true utility and image of Steemit to better educate new users when in fact it's time to leave Beta and scale to the masses. We believe in Steemit b/c we've stayed to watch the movie, we didn't leave during the opening credits, we just need to be a steadying hand to show others all Steemit truly has to offer and get them to stay for the whole movie.
With Dtube, I think it's amazing and could be just what the Dr. ordered for Steem, but I do really worry about violating copyright law. I know they take it very seriously and fear it could cause trouble for Steem down the road. We'll just have to figure out the best way to solve this problem. As for the child pornography, that is repulsive and utterly contemptible. This is something I know this community will fight and not stand for.
