RE: Dealing With Trauma & Accidents My Story | DTube Video

in #dtube7 years ago (edited)

I went through this last year. I was hit by a car that was turning left at a light when I was going straight on a bicycle path crossing the road where I had the right of way. I want to do a post about this but I avoided talking about it online until all the legal stuff was cleared up. The case is closed. The insurance company paid my medical bills and the guy who hit me paid to fix my bike. It kind sucks though that it kept me off my bike all winter while going through physical therapy. I would have loved to keep riding but with a concussion as well as back and neck injury, I had two doctors telling me to at least not ride with snow and ice on the ground.

Did the driver stop when they hit you? What happens there when someone hits you? Here it's always a big worry about medical bills because they can run into the thousands of dollars even for minor accidents (which I thought mine was at first). Lawsuits for physical pain are hard if there is no visible physical damage. I seemed fine as I landed on my feet (after first landing on the hood of the car).
