Pink Date ICO Review - What do you think? Should I Invest?

PinkDate

I'm generally not a huge fan of ICO's or initial coin offerings, especially after getting burnt on my last one DMarket which they just announced isn't even going to hit an exchange, so now I'm stuck with a coin that I can only use to buy virtual items on video games. Big bummer there as I'm not even a gamer.

More recently however there's a few coins that have interested me. Pink Date token which we are going to be discussing today along with Vice Coin and also Tokia, although Tokia recently lost my interest after seeing Visa and Mastercard crack down and cancel crypto debit cards.

Anyhow, Pink Coin is a coin that pairs escorts and clients through an app which has an interface very similar to Tinder, after all I suppose in a way this is a dating app.

What Pink Coin does is vet both the client and the escort to make sure they aren't axe murderes or criminals, it also helps them schedule an appointment together and lastly it acts as an escrow service making sure the escort gets paid and making sure the client is happy with their service.

I feel like this coin actually has a utility and fulfills a real world need. Because of the grey legal area this industry falls into there's not really any alternative out there for clients or escorts.

Recently we saw Tom Dart Cook County Sherrif in Chicago pressure Visa and Mastercard to stop processing payments for Backpage the classified site. Today Backpage only accepts Bitcoin but we all know with the high fees that's not really practical to use. Also Backpage and similar sites really do nothing more than allow someone to post an ad, they don't vet the parties or act as an escrow service, both parties are pretty much left to fend for themselves.

I feel like this coin has a real world use case, however there are some things that trouble me about this ICO.

  1. The Team is Anonymous.

Sure Bitconnect is anonymous as well and it's understandable because of the grey area they operate in why they would be anonymous, however typically with an ICO we like to know the developers, do they have experience, who are they. We know none of this with Pink Coin. It's understandable but also a red flag. What if this whole thing is an exit scam from the get go?

  1. There is literally no buzz about this coin online at all. I heard about this coin a while back and was excited to invest. That said their Reddit page has 2 posts all by them and nothing else. There's no buzz on Twitter, they don't have a Telegram account and this Youtube and Dtube video your watching right now is the ONLY vide online about them. No other crypto Youtubers or content creators have made anything talking about it.

  2. Lastly my other issue is how much money they want for you to invest. I was trying to invest earlier and would have dropped $200 without a second thought, however the minimum buyin is 8000 coins which is just over one Ethere. Nothing against this ICO but there is almost no ICO out there I'd be willing to throw $1500 at. They are just to risky. I'm willing to roll the dice with a few hundred bucks but not sure I'm willing to roll the dice with a full Ether.

Anyhow, what's your guys take on this? Have you heard anything about it? Do you think there's actually a need for this service? Would you invest? Should I invest? Drop a comment below and let me know what you think.

you knowledge of cryptocurrency really amazes me. I for one too do not like ICOs because these days there are alot of scam out there. I would read of the post again to be sure exactly what it is that Pink Date is up to.

By the way have you made your decision?

You should pop on in the Slack and talk to the team and other investors.

They've lowered the minimum investment back down to $500, but I'll tell you, don't invest in this as a short term play, they are aiming for profitability Q3, but I'm planning on a 3-5 timeframe on this one.

I love the idea behind the project, I think it has a real world use case and is necessary unlike many of the other blockchain projects that are basically just hopping on the bandwagon but where blockchain isn't really necessary.

I was very tempted to invest however I wasn't comfortable with $1500 and honestly now that they've lowered it that's kind of a red flag to me. I imagine they are lowering it because they are having a hard time making money. I made a video about PinkDate basically explaining the project so I've earned some affiliate bounty coins, however I'm still on the fence about investing, I think today is probably the last day right?
