Having hopes and dreams is awesome, but most people don’t make any actionable steps toward them, instead create realistic goals for you to tackle and execute on one after another.
I think this is just where people are conflating personal success and publicly recognized success. Is getting rich really what you want or are you just primed to believe that is? More importantly, will you actually become rich? Probably not, so focus on what you can do which is to become financially free to pursue the life you want to live. Now if the life you want to live is having your own private jet and just flying from one vacation spot to another, then you’re not being realistic. Also, it’s a reality lived by few because the people who can afford that have a huge drive and motivation to work, not to vacation.

Maybe it is mostly directed on western people who have greater opportunities as I can not really see myself putting much aside of my 8540 thb / 280 usd monthly salary that I get for my 28 days of 10 hours hard work.
Maybe I should take a chance and change my profession, I really do not know but in the meantime, I am trying my luck here.

Yes, financial freedom is a luxury in itself, but I believe it is attainable and a much more realistic aim for people to shoot for as one of their biggest goals to aim for. That's really unfortunate you've had a hard time earning more, but I believe if you are struggling there is always different things we can do to improve our situations even if little by little. I like the general idea of your post here @scottcbusiness.
And I tend to think that people value #freedom and freedom from suffering more than anything, but that our ideas & desires for wealth & success can actually hinder or even counter our freedom.. it can also cause suffering for others & ourself if we are not careful.

It might be useful to consider anything that counters, harms or destroys freedom as a vice.
Having said that, some restrictions that seem to hinder freedom might actually extend and strengthen it - not letting my 2 year old son play in the street when a car is coming is one example.
It is possible that we are only hurting each other AND ourselves when we carry on in vices.
