American Nomads (Hitchhiking Documentary) - Real Stories

I've always been fascinated by people who choose to live an alternate lifestyle from the traditionally accepted lifestyle of go to school, get an education, get a job, get married, buy a house and live happily ever after.

For many people that's what they want to do and what makes them happy and that's fantastic, however I find it fascinating when people choose to go their own way and do their own thing and do something a bit more outside of the box.

That's exactly what today's documentary is all about.

Beneath the America we all know there's another one hidden from view. A nation of nomadic people who need to move around, see new things, and meet new people. A group of people who wouldn't be happy living the traditional life. This includes everyone from hobos to snowbirds to travelers.

While we may meet these people in passing, more often than not we probably don't get to know them or what their lives are about as they are moving around and traveling, they aren't our neighbors, their kids don't play on our kids sports teams, etc. Regardless they live a fascinating life and having amazing stories to tell. This is a glimpse into their lives and their lifestyle.

I've always thought "travelers" were really interesting people. I see traveling kids on the Metra trains in Chicago alot
