is there any talk of getting a team together to build this platform out? if nothing else, to broadcast the message in a focused way? I'd love to be a part of that team. I want to see YouTube in flames for what they're doing to free speech.
dtube is potentially one of the most exciting things to have happened to the internet in the last 10 years, if it goes the way we are all hoping it will and launches fully in the mainstream to rival Youtube then it will be a game changer ...... the catch 22 though is how to police it, on the one hand you want it to be fully decentralised on the otherhand we all know that there are some vids out there that have no place on cyber space, where is the balance ..... thats where critical thinking comes in
Yes, and balance is the key as you say. But who determines what and how. That is the issue that should be politely discussed. Thank you for stopping by.
Yes, you hit the nail on the head. Most reasonable people want free speech. However, we also know that there are other videos that are contemptible and we don't want them. I think that @heimindanger has a good approach. Thank you for sharing what you said. Right on target!
You can use DTube now. As long as you're a registered member of Steemit you can access it. Go to DTube.video and you'll be able to create and publish your content. Let us know how it works out for you.
First you have to have a Steemit account, which it appears you do. Go to DTube.video and you'll be able to create & send a video. Upload a video you've created while on that site. Wishing you all the best in that endeavor.
I haven't seen a limit on the length of a video. However, you'll get maximum views from a video that runs < 30 minutes. Doing a 4 hour video (hypothetically) wouldn't get as many views. I've learned this painfully as I tend to want to create longer videos to give more value. However, most people, including myself when I'm consuming video, want massive benefit and impact in a relatively short time. Something less than 10 minutes can often grab more attention.
What do you think @xerxes86? Thank you for your comment and stopping by.
That seems strange as the one you saw I did was longer than 10 minutes. They might have changed it. I'd recommend a quick Steemchat note to @heimindanger for clarification. Thank you for letting us know.
I don't clarify anything. Been down that way too many times in my life to know it's not even close to being worth the effort. Which seems to be the case with steemit and and dtube, not worth the effort. If all I get is total BS for my time and effort, then no, it's not worth it at all. Absolutely prejudged, that's the I roll, I have dealt plenty of web sites, and they are all about the same when comes to "clarification.
There are a few comments here about it and I know they would like to see that released. Drop a note to @heimindanger over on Steem Chat and you'll get a better idea of what to expect and when.
Thank you for your comment, Javirid. The interface is similar to, but different from YouTube. I guess building on what is popular is a good idea from a design point of view.
Thanx for your comment and please come back again.
Anyone know why i cant upload to dtube? It looks like it uploads. I see it there and can even play it. But the green arrow never shows it as having been upload and i get red error box (lower right corner) that says efts..? Oh crap cant remember..lol
There are a lot of advantages. Lack of censorship is a biggy. What we talked about in the video concerning downloading is also big. What did you think of the other points we made in the video?
Don't listen to terrybrock he is a shill, nothing about dtube works. it's been over a year since I joined and they haven't changed. The only people who get to upload are friends and family. dtube will never be anything more than a tiny sirte that will be an after thought in a few years.
I have been with Steemit since July 2016. To me, the addition of D-TUBE is the best thing that has happened to Steemit. I really glad this is up and being worked on to continue to improve the service. I really think this is just the beginning for what D-TUBE can be and will be.... Keep up the great work. And thank you for what your doing.
@Terrybrock, great job on your interview with Adrian and respect to your journalist skills in constantly being able to reach out influential people. I have to try and learn a thing or two from you and maybe be as successful as you in the future :)
You are very kind, generation. Thank you but I feel like I am just beginning and want to go even further. Hope you have a great day and stay safe during our visit from Ms. Irma over the weekend!
Thank you, mrblu. Yes, DTube is a great platform and holds a lot of possibilities. Thank you for the upvote and your comment. Please come back to visit again.
I don't know but you might want to chat with @heimindanger over on SteemChat. Let us know what happens as it will be good for others who might have a similar experience to know what works.
Managed to have a chat with @heimindanger. Awesome guy :)
So basically he told me to change the API settings as in the screenshot below. I was using the second API url and told me to revert back to the first one.
So anyone who is getting the problem do check if the above solution works for you.
Two questions for Adrian: what about copyright? If I open a channel and bring music video that I did not produce, how are you going to handle this? And the second question is how are you going to reward people, as viewers or as producers? Thank you.
You'll want to ask him. Go over to SteemChat and leave those questions. I think you have some good questions there. Please let us know what @heimindanger has to say about it.
Im so glad this is being actively worked on !
This post received a 2% upvote from @randowhale thanks to @spacehd! For more information, click here!
Thank you very much @randowhale. I appreciate your support and please let me know if I can help you.
That was just for his/her own post...
Well, actually when you post on DTube, everyone can read it who can read a Steemit post. Give it a shot and see what happens.
Yes, Adrien is doing a good job on it and working on it valiantly. Thank you for visiting, spacehd
Hi @terrybrock, I just stopped back to let you know your post was one of my favourite reads and I included it in my Steemit Ramble. You can read what I wrote about your post here.
If you’d like to nominate someone’s post just visit the Steemit Ramble Discord
That is most kind of you shadowspub. Thank you for doing that.
Excited to see more updates!
great interview
Thank you, markjackson1989.

There definitely needs to be a DTube app!
YEs, a DTube app for mobile would be great. I think he's got his plate full for now but that is good for the future.
You might want to check with @heimindanger and see if he has need for some support (SteemChat is best place). Glad you have you with us.
Very exciting

Yeah man I'm really excited about it, as well. The balance will be key. I don't want it to become a place where people post fucked up shit.

You are welcome thejohalfiles. Nice of you to stop by and visit.
UPVOTE, RESTEEM & SPREADING THE WORD. SOON AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF DTUBE 0.2 BECAUSE IT IS ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE MANY ALTERNATIVE INSTEAD OF A MONOPOLY!
Thank you, thank you, thank you avance2010. I appreciate your kindness and support.
How does one get to use this feature?
First you have to have a Steemit account, which it appears you do. Go to DTube.video and you'll be able to create & send a video. Upload a video you've created while on that site. Wishing you all the best in that endeavor.
Very well, but how long/big can the video be?

Tried to upload a few videos, seems that only videos no longer than 10 minutes will be accepted.

Does anyone know if there are plans to launch a DTube app at some point soon?
There are a few comments here about it and I know they would like to see that released. Drop a note to @heimindanger over on Steem Chat and you'll get a better idea of what to expect and when.

Thank you for your kind words, abderrazak75. Nice to have you visit.
The main problems I am currently finding while using DTube are:
EDIT: forget about point 2. Time is shown precisely in main page.

There are some "growing pains" with it but overall it is a good tool. Keep trying and it should work eventually.
Ty I'll try
Hello!!!!!! May I know What are the advantages of Dtube from Youtube? because I am interested about this #excited.

Brilliant post!! Very much looking forward to dtube, I have been trying to upload to it however for the last week or so, with no success.

Yesterday was having an issue when uploadimg my video on DTube.
It was a 80 MB video and left it for one hour to upload. Nothing happened.
Tried it again for another hour and still it didn't upload and there was no error message.
Is my file size too big?
Many thanks

After talking with @heimindanger, I made a post with the latest stats of DTube and how well it is competing with Youtube. Do check it out :)
Cheers XD
You did a great job with that, pisolutionsmru! Thank you!
Thanks for your words of encouragement and for checking out my post :)
Cheers!
Dtube has a few bugs i hope they make it easier to upload videos as many times the videos will get stuck in the upload.
Yes, zardoz144, I've seen that. It takes some work and we are in the early stages. Thank you for your comments.
Shared to show others the progress that is happening! Thank You @terrybrock!
Thank you, weetreebonsai. We all appreciate you sharing this and telling others about it.
Great
right on! soo cool to be part of the steemit evolution!
is it possible to embed dtube videos into steemit? so far I know youtube and vimeo works. thanks!
Ok
I wish I was more technical, I still cannot get my dtube to work ...at all. Error messages and crashes is all I get.
